ABWA Official Website – On the sidelines of the “Lights of Guidance” exhibition, ABNA reporter interviewed Hojat al-Islam Sayed Hassan Fallahian, in charge of the booth of the “Monji Institute for International Education”.
About the activities of this institution, he said, “Since the late 1990s, the concern was raised that there is a lack and weakness in the translation of (Islamic) religious texts. In response to this need, the specialized institute “Tarjoman Kalam-e Noor” was established in 2001. As the first work, one of the books of Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi was translated by our institute. Further, the institute developed, and its name changed to “Monji Institute for International Education”, which now has branches.”
“The Monji institute has a specialized center for translation and an academic center and also has school training,” Hojat al-Islam Fallahian added, “More than two hundred clips and educational content have been produced in Monji Institute, and more than one thousand book titles have been translated into more than thirty languages. Since the inception, the works of the grand sources of emulation including Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Milani, Ayatollah Vahid Khorasani, Ayatollah Makarem, etc. have been translated in the Monji Institute International Educational.”
“We have Monji International School where about 600 non-Iranian students living in Iran study from kindergarten to high school diploma. In this school, we produce educational content, and people from other countries follow our educational topics. On the other hand, we also hold virtual courses,” he said about other activities.
“Monji Institute for International Education is not under the supervision of any institution,” the religious expert added, “We have obtained the necessary permits for our activities from the Department of the International Affairs of the Education Ministry, and our educational and book texts have been translated based on the Islamic perspective.”
On the Lights of Guidance exhibition he stated, “I think we need that the “Lights of Guidance” exhibition be held annually for the institutions active in international propagation of Islam get to know and synergize with each other and recognize each other’s weakness and strength, to prevent repetitive activities and works, and the fields of activities of different institutions and centers be specified. It would be great if this exhibition is held annually.”
“I suggest that an association or think tank consisting of all the centers and institutions internationally active (in the propagation of Islam) be established to facilitate the interaction. Because today, knowledge of environments is of great importance, and we must know, for instance, what specific content to produce for America or Africa, or to invest more in countries that are close to us,” Fallahian added.
It should be mentioned that on the establishment anniversary of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly, the exhibition of the achievements of institutions and organizations active in the international propagation of Islam, entitled “Lights of Guidance” is being held from Saturday, December 31, 2022, until January Thursday 5, 2023, in the conference hall of the Islamic Propagation Office of the Seminary.
It is worth noting that the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly was established on December 31, 1990, with the aim of gathering Shiites, establishing relationships within the Shiite world, promoting Shiites seminaries, solving the problems of Shiites with other Islamic Denominations, and benefiting from real and legal capabilities of Shiites.
The Assembly was established by the order of Grand Ayatollah Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, on December 25, 1990, with the aim of introducing the revolutionary foundations, and thought of the Islamic system of Iran to Shiites all over the world. /345/
