ABWA Official Website – Denouncing the attack of the usurping Zionist regime on Gaza and the killing of women, children, and men, the President of the University of Religions and Denominations in a letter to the Secretary-General of the United Nations, called for the respecting of human dignity of Gazans, and to prevent the Zionist regime from continuation of the oppression.
The letter of Hojat al-Islam Sayed Abolhasan Navvab to the Secretary General of the United Nations is as follows:
His Excellency Antonio Guterres
The Respected Secretary General of the United Nations
With Greetings and Regards
Respect for human dignity, life, property, and honor is common to all religions, philosophical systems, and ethical schools. Moreover, more than other religious systems, divine religions emphasize honoring this creation of God, who breathed into him from His spirit; to the extent that it can be said that religions were revealed to serve man.
The events taking place these days in the large prison of Gaza have targeted mankind and humanity more than the Arab ethnicity or the Islamic religion. The suffering and bitterness that the people of Gaza are facing today have faced the claimants of civilization with a huge challenge of choosing between political interests or religious and human values.
We, as a large religious and academic body, while expressing our gratitude for the wise positions of His Excellency in supporting the oppressed people of Gaza, in addition to praying for the end of the oppression against these people and all the oppressed people of the world, we ask His Excellency to use his spiritual power and influence to urge governments and nations to respect the human dignity of the people of Gaza and stop the Zionist regime of Israel to continue his oppression against Gazans.
I pray to the Almighty God for the health and longevity of His Excellency
Sayed Abolhasan Navvab
The President of the University of Religions and Denominations
