The book “Wahhabism at the Crossroads” by Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi was published in India by the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly Publishing House.
The book analyzes the beliefs and practices of Wahhabis, and proves the Wahhabism is declining.
The author by dividing Wahhabis into two extreme and moderate groups, argues that the era of the extreme and fanatical Wahhabis has come to an end. In the first chapter of the book, he provides reasons to prove this argument, including extreme violence, imposing their beliefs, extreme prejudice, stagnation and weakness of reasoning and incorrect understanding and conception of some Quranic words.
In the second chapter, he points to the examples of the opposition of contemporary Wahhabi scholars to Wahhabi beliefs and has considered it as the best evidence for his claim.
One of the main contents of this chapter is the introduction of the books “Concepts that must be corrected” by Muhammad bin Alawi, one of the great ulama of Mecca, and “Dia’ia wa laysa Nabiya” by Sheikh Hassan bin Farhan, as well as an analysis of the statement of the board of great Saudi ulama denouncing Wahhabis’ violence.
The book “Wahhabism at the Crossroads” by Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi, translated by Mr. Mostafa Mohammadi in English in 224 pages, commissioned by the Translation Office of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly, and the Publication House of the Assembly in collaboration with Velayat Publications has published 1000 copies of the book in India.
