An Italian member of the General Assembly of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly passed away.
Ammar Luigi De Martino, the senior Italian shiite passed away on Friday.
He was the founder of the first Shiite Center called "Islamic Association of AhlulBayt (a.s.)" in Naples and he was the founder of the journal "Pure Islam" in Italian.
During his more than thirty years of scientific, cultural and propaganda work, the late scholar played an important role in the growth of Shiite Islam among the natives of Italy.
Ammar de Martino also played a decisive role as the Italian member of the General Assembly of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly in his country.
He was the first known Shiite Italian and was spiritual father to the Italian Shiites who converted to Shiism through him.
