ABWA Official Website – The mourning ceremony for the martyrdom of Lady Fatimah Zahra (a.s.) was held with the speech of Ayatollah Reza Ramazani, Secretary General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly in Khatam Al-Anbia (p.b.u.h) Grand Mosque in Qom.
In this ceremony, Ayatollah Ramazani said, “A woman can play a role both in and outside the home. In some cases, the presence of women in society and playing roles is necessary. For example, in some scientific fields such as medicine, women’s education is necessary, so that the Sharia rules can be observed in the society.”
“A woman can fulfill her social role as a teacher,” he added, “In addition to the social role, the woman is the teacher of the children in the family, and this is the position that God has given her.”
“In the cultural packages of education in the West, the educational role of parents has decreased to zero, and this role has been taken away from them. This is dangerous. This is despite that the role of parents in raising children in the family is crucial,” he continued.
About the position and characteristics of Lady Fatimah Zahra (a.s.), the Secretary General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly said, “In addition to her feelings, emotions, and intellect, Lady Fatimah Zahra (a.s.) appeared in the social arena wherever it was necessary, gave sermons, and stood by the friend of God. Lady Zahra (a.s.) has these moral qualities, and she is a comprehensive and perfect model for humanity.”
“Lady Fatimah Zahra (a.s.) made the atmosphere of the house a source of peace for her husband Imam Ali (a.s.). A Quranic verse was revealed to the Muslims and forbade them to call the Holy Prophet (p.b.u.h) by his name. In this regard, Lady Fatimah (a.s.) said, “The glory of the Holy Prophet (p.b.u.h) prevented me from calling him “father.” Therefore, I said: “O the Messenger of Allah!” The Prophet (p.b.u.h) turned to me and said: “My daughter! This verse does not address you. You belong to me, and I belong to you. You call me father because this is more beloved in my heart, and more favorable for God”,” he said.
“Surah Al-Insan teaches us how to live. In this surah, we read: “إِنَّمَا نُطْعِمُكُمْ لِوَجْهِ اللَّهِ لَا نُرِيدُ مِنْكُمْ جَزَاءً وَلَا شُكُورًا” ([saying,] ‘We feed you only for the sake of Allah. We desire no reward from you, nor thanks.) (Holy Quran, Surah: Al-Insan, Verse: 9) This verse indicates that Lady Zahra (a.s.) and other AhlulBayt (a.s.) do not expect gratitude from anyone but they do good deeds for the immortality of that deed,” added the professor of higher levels of the seminary.
“Lady Fatimah Zahra (a.s.) was called her father’s mother (Umm Abiha). Because after the demise of her mother, Lady Khadijah (a.s.), she was a nurse for his father and was very diligent in this. She played her role as a wife in the best way. In this regard, Imam Ali (a.s.) said, “The daughter of the Prophet (p.b.u.h), did not make me angry even once. She never disobeyed me, and whenever I felt sad, seeing her would remove all my sadness”,” he added.
About today’s lifestyle, Ayatollah Ramazani said, “Today, due to changing tastes, consumerism is prevalent, and due to the increase in people’s expectations, the age of marriage has also increased. It is thought that husband and wife being equal means being on the same level in material matters. While being equal is important from the faith aspect, that is, both husband and wife should be believers.”
Regarding the educational and managerial role of Lady Fatimah Zahra (a.s.) in the family, Ramazani said, “Lady Fatimah Zahra (a.s.) managed the house with the least facilities and had the best way of raising children. She was the best teacher and trained the best people.”
“Even though she had a maid named Fedha, Lady Fatimah Zahra (a.s.) did the housework herself, and observed justice in the best way. One of the scholars stated that “some like Lady Fatimah Zahra (a.s.) had a wide and blessed life. Pray for us to have a wide life too [because Lady’s life span was 18 years, and it was short, but at the same time it was very useful and blessed, this interpretation is used]”,” added the Secretary General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly.
At the end of his speech, stating that “Lady Fatimah Zahra (a.s.) stood by the friend of God,” Ayatollah Ramazani said, “Whoever stands by God’s friend must be patient and resist. In this regard, Imam Reza in a Hadith said, “Without three characteristics, a person is not a believer: The characteristics of his Lord, the characteristics of the His Prophet (p.b.u.h), and the characteristics of His friend. The characteristic of the Lord is that He keeps secrets; the characteristic of the Prophet (p.b.u.h) is good conduct with people; and the characteristic of the friend of God is endurance and patience in hardships and difficulties”.”
