On Sunday, July 12, 2021, with the presence of Ayatollah Reza Ramazani, Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly, and Dr. Sorena Sattari, Vice President for Science and Technology affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the first International Innovation Center of Iran, entitled “International Innovation Center of Yas” was opened at AhlulBayt (a.s.) International University.
Supporting the entrepreneurial ecosystem, entrepreneurship, student empowerment, the possibility of establishing extensive contacts with educational and research centers in the Islamic world, and attracting capable Muslim students of the world, are among the objectives of Yas Center, in which 15 knowledge-based and innovative companies operate. With the opening of this center, the process of commercialization of knowledge-based ideas will be facilitated.
In this opening ceremony, with a brief introduction of the activities of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly, Ayatollah Ramazani, the Secretary-General of the Assembly said, “Currently, the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly interacts with 144 countries and has an audience of tens of millions.”
“The development of international relations is our most important objective,” he emphasized, appreciating the officials of AhlulBayt (a.s.) University for launching this innovative center.
Dr. Sorena Sattari, Vice President for Science and Technology Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran also spoke at the event.
About the opening of this center, Dr. Sorena Sattari said, “With the support of the Science and Technology Vice-Presidency, Iranian Innovation Houses and Technology Exports have been established to facilitate the export of domestic technological products.”
“AhlulBayt (a.s.) University is literally an international university, and its all students are from other countries,” he continued.
“Considering the serious discussions about technology diplomacy in the Islamic Republic of Iran, when the students of AhlulBayt (a.s.) University return to their home countries after graduation, they will be Iran’s ambassadors on technology,” Dr. Sattari clarified.
It should be mentioned that on Sunday, July 12, 2021, with the initiation of the International University of AhlulBayt (a.s.) and with the cooperation the support of the Science and Technology Vice-Presidency, the Yas International Innovation Center officially started its activities.
This center has been established to support the entrepreneurship ecosystem, facilitating the process of commercialization of knowledge-based ideas, creating employment, and empowering Muslim students in the knowledge-based economy. It can establish extensive connections with educational and research centers in the Islamic world and attract talented and capable Muslim students from all over the world.
By attracting, organizing, managing, and synergizing accelerators, start-ups, technology companies, and knowledge-based companies active in the mission areas of AhlulBayt (a.s.) University, Yas International Innovation Center is to play a key role in empowering and developing the cultural and economic development of Muslims around the world.
The presence of foreign students in knowledge-based companies and startups will be possible by this innovation center. After graduation and being trained at Yas Innovation Center, these students can prepare for the development of knowledge-based products exports and the establishment of branches of knowledge-based companies and startups in their home countries.
