ABWA Official Website – A meeting to review the activities of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly on “lifestyle” was held in the meeting hall of the Assembly in Qom with the presence of the Secretary General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly.
In this meeting, Ayatollah Reza Ramazani stated, “The Islamic Revolution of Iran is modeled according to world developments but based on its own values. For instance, in the discourse of the revolution, the term religious democracy was coined against democracy in the Western sense of the word.”
“In the West, compared to the East, more works on ethics and education have been published,” he added, “These works, according to Western principles and standards, could address minimal ethics, however they introduce it as universal ethics.”
Stating that lifestyle is something other than behavior, the Secretary General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly added, “According to the Statement of the Second Phase of the Revolution, against the Western debates we should have equivalents in the Islamic lifestyle. Because Islam, according to its comprehensiveness, has provided a lifestyle for Muslims.”
He emphasized that the “Islamic lifestyle” should be the title of the activities, and went on to say, “In this regard, we must present new literature, and produce works that become a source for researchers.”
“In lifestyle topics, we must consider the matter in macro, and the works in this regard must be comprehensive. Some researchers have presented good works, but they are not comprehensive. Because this is a specialized task,” Ayatollah Ramazani continued.
While pointing out the necessity of using the works of other centers on the issue of lifestyle, he said, “In WikiShia encyclopedia, lifestyle subheadings can be used in more than 100 entries.”
“Today, the world progresses with conceptualization. Lifestyle does not only include the field of behavior and conduct, and in this discussion, the West has even considered “sensual man” and not “intuitive man”,” continued the professor of higher levels of the seminary.
“Regarding the Islamic lifestyle, highlighting the practical life of the Infallibles (a.s.) is important and the lack of this matter can be seen in some books and works,” continued the Secretary General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly stated.
Emphasizing the necessity of using new tools to promote the Islamic lifestyle, the Secretary General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly added, “We must have an international perspective. With some narrow and limited interpretations, we cannot present Islam to the world.”
It is worth mentioning that at the beginning of this meeting, the officials of various parts of the Department for Scientific and Cultural Affairs of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly presented a report on the programs, activities, as well as plans suggested regarding lifestyle. /345/
