On Sunday morning, August 7, 2022, in the mourning ceremony on the Tasua of Imam Hussain (a.s.) (the 9thday of Muharram which is dedicated to commemoration of Hazrat Abalfazl al-Abbas) in Abuzar Mosque in Kurdmahalleh of Rasht, expressing his condolences on the Martyrdom of Imam Hussain (a.s.) and Hazrat Abalfazl, Ayatollah Reza Ramazani stated, “Imam Hussain (a.s.) rose up to revive Islam.”
Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly added, “Economic, political and cultural crises were widespread during the Age of Ignorance (Jahiliyyah, the is an Islamic concept referring to the period of time and state of affairs in Arabia before the advent of Islam in 610 CE). At that time, some people had 300 to 400 slaves and servants, and they tortured and abused them. The rulers in the Jahiliyyah did not adhere to moral issues. The Holy Prophet (p.b.u.h) was sent by God and saved the people and showed them the destination and the way to felicity.”
“Believers who do righteous deeds have a pure and good life. The Prophet (p.b.u.h) educated mankind and invited them to a pure life, in which people have right thoughts, morals and actions. Islam came as the last religion, considering all aspects including health, honor, intellect, thinking, spirituality, and prosperity. Islam has different dimensions of material and spiritual human life, and it is comprehensive of human desires. Unfortunately, after the demise of Prophet Muhammad (p.b.u.h), bad things happened, and the society somehow returned to Jahiliyyah,” he clarified.
“The Islam which Umayyads advocated, was new and caused the religion to be humiliated. The Umayyad rule was based on three axes of sword and force, pressure on the people, and tyranny and oppression. After the demise of Prophet Muhammad (p.b.u.h), some people abused Islam as a tool to reach power and wealth. According to Imam Ali (a.s.), “Islam was a captive of the wicked,” to the point that 50 years after the demise of the Prophet the talking Quran was speared (talking Quran refers to Imam Hussain and other Imams),” Ayatollah Ramazani noted.
“After the demise of the Prophet Muhammad (p.b.u.h), the enemies of Islam distorted it, and the distorted version of Islam acquired the three characteristics of captivity, humiliation and darkness. The enemies completely turned Islam upside down and only the word of Islam and only lines of the Quran remained. Imam Hussain (a.s.) never agreed to pledge allegiance to Yazid. He rose up to revive Islam, and always emphasized that “to revive Islam, let Hussain’s (a.s.) head remain on the top of the spear”. Imam Hussain (a.s.) taught us all religious zeal,” said the member of the Assembly of Leadership Experts.
