ABWA Official Website – On Wednesday, September 18, 2024, on the occasion of the birth anniversary of the Holy Prophet (p.b.u.h) and Imam Sadiq (a.s.), and Shia-Sunni Unity Week, a group of Sunni school principals and cultural activists of India, met with Ayatollah Reza Ramazani, Secretary General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly.
After welcoming the guests and expressing his gratitude for the activities of Al-Mustafa (p.b.u.h) International University in India, Ayatollah Ramazani stated, “Today, Muslim scholars have a remarkable chance to present Islam in a thorough, insightful, and detailed way, a unique opportunity that has not been available in any previous historical era. We must properly understand the Islam revealed by God, and introduce it by referring to the Book [Quran], [Holy Prophet’s] Tradition, and reason.”
Referring to the rare opportunity today to introduce Islam, he said that the people of the world are thirsty for understanding the teachings of the Quran and Islam.
Knowledge impasse in the Western world
In explaining the ethical impasse of the West, the Secretary General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly expressed, “The West could not provide a thorough prescription for all dimensions of human beings, including ethics, beliefs, and laws. While there is no knowledge impasse in Islamic teachings. One of the miracles of the Quran, in addition to its eloquence and articulateness, is its comprehensiveness in the knowledge needed by mankind. In a way that causes people to act and play their role.”
Ayatollah Ramazani considered it necessary to pay attention to all aspects of Islami. “We should just introduce one specific aspect of Islam and neglect its other dimensions; we should avoid only focusing on the external concepts of the Quran or the individual duties emphasized by Islam and neglect the inner concepts of the Quran and the social duties of Islam. The Holy Quran has considered all aspects of knowledge needed by mankind, and we, as missionaries and preachers, must convey all its teachings to humanity.”
Referring to the issue of distortion of religion, he considered the issue of “Rahmani [merciful] Islam” [a distorted version of Islam that just insists on the merciful aspect of the religion] as one of the distortions. “Our Prophet (p.b.u.h) is the prophet of mercy, and at the same time the prophet of resistance; mercy for all people, and resistance against the irreligious rich people, oppressors, and hypocrites. What behavior should we have against the arrogant, colonialist, and aggressors? Throughout history, there has always been a conflict between the arrogant and the oppressed. Therefore, the prophets were sent by God to support the oppressed, and to stand against the oppressors,” he emphasized.
“God, who ordered the Prophet (p.b.u.h) to confront and deal seriously with oppressors, ordered him to treat the oppressed gently and well,” remarked the Secretary General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly.
“I request that you train the students with the Holy Prophet’s (p.b.u.h) conduct so that they become good preachers, propagators, and trainers of Islam. Education, training, and preaching are all spiritual positions of the Holy Prophet (p.b.u.h). Of course, propagating Islam requires speaking mildly, and gently word. If the Prophet (p.b.u.h) had verbal or heart roughness instead of kindness, people would never approach him, but avoid him,” he addressed the principals of Sunni schools in India.
“If we educate our children based on the Prophet’s (p.b.u.h) teachings, we will be conquerors in all fields of education, training, and preaching in the world,” Ayatollah Ramazani emphasized.
At the end of his speech in this meeting, Ayatollah Ramazani pointed out the significant role of Al-Mustafa (p.b.u.h) International University in spreading the pure teachings of Muhammadan Islam in the world and considered the institution successful in implementing its goals and duties.
It is worth mentioning that this session was attended by Hojat al-Islam Shakeri, the former representative of Al-Mustafa (p.b.u.h) International University in India, Hojat al-Islam Hussaini, the current representative of Al-Mustafa (p.b.u.h) International University in India, Dr. Hashemi, Director General of the International Department of the University’s Short-Term Courses Center, and Hojat al-Islam Sayed At’har Hussaini, Deputy for Communications of Al-Mustafa (p.b.u.h) International University in India.
