On Saturday noon, June 4, 2022, at the anniversary of the demise of Imam Khomeini, the founder of the Islamic Revolution of Iran in the cemetery of the martyrs of Langarud, Ayatollah Reza Ramazani stated, “Commemoration ceremonies for Imam Khomeini (r.a.) should be held more glorious every year, to prove to the world that our way is the way of the late Imam (r.a.).”
The Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly stated, “It should not be neglected in holding ceremonies for the anniversary of the demise of Imam Khomeini (r.a.). The great miracle of the century, the Islamic Revolution of Iran, was performed by the late Imam.”
“No one believed that a government with the name of Islam and Islamic values would arise centuries after Islam. Even the world’s leading figures did not imagine a religious revolution in any part of the world. They believed that if a revolution took place, it would be secular,” he added.
“In the past, religion was not present in the public sphere, and some tried to stop the implementation of religious rulings,” Ayatollah Ramazani pointed out.
“Some try to downplay religious obligations, such as the hijab, in Islamic society. We paid a lot for the preservation of the hijab, for example, in the Goharshad Mosque incident (Massacre of thousands of people who gathered in Goharshad Mosque in 1935 to protest against de-Islamization measures during Reza Shah’s reign),” stated, the representative of the people of Gilan in the Assembly of Leadership Experts.
“All the efforts of some people have been aimed at undermining both national and religious zeal. They wanted the Iranians to have neither Iranian nor religious zeal. Therefore, they target both types of zeal,” he added.
“Limiting religion to merely praying and fasting, without any influence on society, is one of the plans of the enemies,” Ayatollah Ramazani said.
“Justice must be realized in all aspects. Islam was in solitude cnditions in the past, and the Mojahedin had to initiate the Enlightenment Jihad. Imam Khomeini (r.a.) was the first fighter in the path of Enlightenment jihad and fought hard against the distortions that had been created about religion,” added the Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly.
“What could overthrow the Shah’s throne when intellectuals, academics and even seminarians did not expect it to happen? By inviting the youth to confront oppression, Imam Khomeini invited everyone to a general uprising,” he clarified.
“Imam Khomeini (r.a.) never sought a position, while today some people toil to achieve it,” Ayatollah Ramazani noted.
“The goal of the enemies is to destroy religion,” stated the representative of the people of Gilan in the Assembly of Leadership Experts.
“The progress of Islam cannot be stopped. Imam Khomeini (r.a.) revived the religion and today’s generation of the religious community. In the absence of such a spirit, we will be harmed,” he said.
“The Islamic Republic is like a trust, and we must take care of it. Because it is not easily obtained. Many lives have been sacrificed for this trust. To understand this, you need to read the biographies of the martyrs,” Ayatollah Ramazani said.
“Imam Khomeini revived all kinds of jihad. He revived jihad in the sense of enlightenment as well as fighting,” he added.
“Enlightenment jihad is needed for the progress of the Islamic Revolution in the world,” stated the Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly.
“A Christian scholar in France said that they were revived by the breath of Imam Khomeini. Today, non-Muslim religious people are trying to reconsider their relationship with religion. Religion is researched in the world’s important universities. Even the Zionist regime has established a university to study Islam,” he stated.
Referring to the widespread popularity of the anthem “Salute Commander”, Ayatollah Ramazani stated, “Rising from Langarud, this epic song is the beginning for the whole world. It is an honor for us to be a soldier of Imam Mahdi (a.s.).”
“The anthem “Salute Commander” spread to other countries, and it has been performed in some countries such as Nigeria, Tanzania, Indonesia, India, Turkey and some Arab countries,” noted the representative of the people of Gilan in the Assembly of Leadership Experts.
Concluding his speech, Ayatollah Ramazani said, “Imam Khomeini (r.a.) struggled and handed over a significant trust to us. In this way, our duty is to avoid neglect. We must rather maintain this great trust through jihadi management.”
