The first anniversary of Hojat al-Islam Qazi Sayed Niaz Hussain Naqvi, former chairman of the Pakistan’s Office of AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly, member of the General Assembly of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly, and vice president of the Shiite Wefaq al-Madares chain schools, was held in Qom.
The ceremony was held with the presence of Hojat al-Islam Hosseini Bushehri, President of the Seminary Teachers Association, Hojat al-Islam Alavi Boroujerdi, Hojat al-Islam Sayed Baqer Golpayegani, Hojat al-Islam Mohammadi Iraqi, Hojat al-Islam Hadavi Tehrani, Hojat al-Islam Zonnouri, Hojat al-Islam Khatib (Minister of Intelligence) , a group of officials and staff of the judiciary and justice of Qom province, Fayyaz from Pakistan and representatives of the offices of the grand sources of emulation, Ayatollah Safi Golpaygani and Ayatollah Mirza Javad Tabrizi.
On the commemoration of the first anniversary of Sayed Niaz Hossein Naqvi (r.a.) in the Imam Hassan Askari (a.s.) Mosque in Qom, Hojat al-Islam Ali Nazari Monfared stated, “Death is an inevitable truth in our lives as human beings. As God Almighty says in verse 57 of Surah Ankabut, “كُلُّ نَفْسٍ ذَائِقَةُ الْمَوْتِ ۖ ثُمَّ إِلَيْنَا تُرْجَعُونَ” (Every soul shall taste death. Then you shall be brought back to Us).”
“One of the divine and Islamic commands is to pay attention to death, as Imam Hassan Askari (a.s.) said, “Remember God and death a lot and read the Quran a lot and send many blessings on the Prophet (p.b.u.h). Because sending peace and blessings to Prophet Muhammad (p.b.u.h) has ten rewards”,” continued the seminary preacher.
“In the history of humanity, there have been people who were not afraid of death and welcomed death with open arms. Abu Dharr Ghaffari (one of the companions of the Prophet) was asked why some people are afraid of death? He replied, “Those who have done anything to rebuild their material life cannot bear a ruined After-Life, and they do not like to go from prosperous place to ruined place”,” added Nazari Monfared.
“The reason why some people are afraid of death is that they do not believe in resurrection, they do not believe in the afterlife, and they see life only in the material world. But if one lives a pure life, and accepts death purely, he has no fear of death, and like an infant who is dependent on his mother’s breast, he will long for eternal life,” he said.
Nazari Monfared, who was speaking at a large gathering of Pakistani professors, scholars and non-Iranian scholars living in Qom, added, “Those who have considered the world as a farm for the Hereafter, have made effort, service to the people, have made learning and teaching knowledge their top priority, have prepared their needs for the Hereafter, are not afraid of death. As the Grand Ayatollah Mirza Shirazi was asked, what special thing was he doing for his hereafter, and he replied calmly, “I do my daily chores.” This means that they were moving in a straight path.”
“On the other hand, there are those to whom God addressed in verse 108 of Surah Al-Mu’minun, “اخْسَئُوا فِيهَا وَلَا تُكَلِّمُونِ” (Go away into it and speak not to Me). This is the description of those who have no belief in afterlife and resurrection, and consider life only in the material world,” he said, in another part of his speech.
“In a hadith Imam Musa ibn Ja'far (a.s.) said, “Go to the cemetery a lot, see the condition of the dead, and see the end of human life, because this has a lesson for you”,” added Nazari Monfared, referring to a hadith by the seventh Imam of the Shiites.
In another part of his speech, referring to the scientific and spiritual personality of Allameh Niaz Hossein Naqvi, the professor of the seminary of Qom added, “This famous and sage scholar was one of the promoters of the pure teachings of the pure Muhammadan (p.b.u.h) Islam in the sensitive conditions of Pakistan and the Indian subcontinent, and he did not spare any effort in this direction.”
“Hojat al-Islam Sayed Niaz Naqvi was one of the pioneers of unity and approximation between Islamic denominations, and among Pakistani Sunni and Shiite scholars, he was considered a justified and accepted figure. He had valuable degrees of knowledge and virtue, and throughout his blessed life, he moved in the straight path,” he added.
It is worth mentioning that Hojat al-Islam Sayed Niaz Naqvi passed away on Thursday, October 29, 2020, in the Amir Al-Momenin (a.s.) Hospital in Qom due to the Covid-19 virus.
