Ayatollah "Mohammad Ali Taskhiri", a member of the Supreme Council of the Ahlulbayt (a.s.) World Assembly, passed away on Tuesday at the age of 76 after a heart attack.
َAyatollah Mohammad Ali Takhiri was also the chairman of the Supreme Council of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought and an advisor to the Supreme Leader on Islamic world affairs.
Ayatollah Tsakhiri was born in Najaf and his father was from Tonekabon, one of the western cities of Mazandaran province.
He established the Islamic Culture and Relation Organization in 1995.
Ayatollah Taskhiri was one of the founders of the Ahlulbayt (a.s.) World Assembly and was the Secretary General of the Assembly from 1990 to 1999.
In 2012 he was appointed by the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution as his high advisor in the affairs of the Islamic world.
Ayatollah Taskhiri's funeral will be held on Thursday, August 20, in Qom.
