ABWA Official Website – In condemnation of the insult of the French magazine Charles Hebdo to the religious and political authority of the Islamic world, Imam Khamenei, the AhlulBayt (a.s.) Assembly of Syria issued a statement.
The statement of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) Assembly of Syria reads, “(The Global) Arrogance and the West once again return to their ignorance and stupidity, and under the pretext of freedom of opinion and expression and the independence of the press, commit evil deeds by mocking religion and humiliating religious symbols and high Islamic values.”
“After the West initiated its campaign by insulting the Holy Prophet of Islam (p.b.u.h), today we witness that Charlie Hebdo magazine, line with the crimes of the West, is showing its teeth out of anger, and publishes cartoons against one of the symbols of Islam, Muslims and leadership,” the Assembly continued.
“While denouncing this disgraceful insult to the Imam Khamenei who is one of the Marjas of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) school and the prominent political leader, we call on the world’s libertarians, pacifists, and writers that in response to this disgraceful move, to follow the Islamic Republic’s steps in defense of Islam and Islamic sanctities,” the statement noted.
It is worth mentioning that the satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo, which was trying to advance the Islamophobia project by insulting the Holy Prophet (p.b.u.h), has now put the Iran-phobia project on the agenda by insulting Ayatollah Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of the Revolution; a move under the guise of freedom of expression that follows political lobbying and ideological goals.
The name of Charlie Hebdo French satirical magazine immediately reminds us of concepts such as humiliation, insult and defamation; a magazine that is used against people and their beliefs under the guise of freedom of expression. /345/
