following the terrorist attack at Baqir al-Ulum Mosque in Kabul in which tens of Shiites mourning for Imam Hussain (A) on Arbaeen were killed, Ahlul Bayt World Assembly has issued a statement condemning the heinous crime and has urged the Afghanistan government and authorities to identify the elements behind it and punish them.
In parts of the statement it is mentioned that the Shiite and Sunni brothers must continue their unity and brotherhood as before and even more seriously.
The full text of the statement is as follows:
"Whoever kills a believer intentionally, his punishment is hell to live therein forever. He shall incur the wrath of Allah, Who will lay His curse on him and prepare for him a woeful punishment. Once again, the Muslims brothers in Afghanistan had gathered in mosque to mourn the martyrdom of Imam Hussain (A) on Arbaeen, but were killed and martyred by the evilest of people". An-Nisaa, 93
It seems that those who want to remember and revive the name of Imam Hussain are destined to be sacrificed in their way by the Yazids of our times. However they never bend a knee and stand upright against tyranny.
Killing people for their beliefs is crime against humanity and the perpetrators must be identified and prosecuted by international criminal courts.
Ahlul Bayt World Assembly condemns this cowardly and heinous crime which was carried out by deviant movements and extremists and urged the Afghanistan government and authorities to identify and punish them deservingly. We also urged them to do their best in providing safety especially for religious places.
Tolerance and brotherhood of the Afghani Sunni and Shiite brothers has always been remarkable and will remain so despite the enemy's efforts in disturbing it.
Doubtlessly, Sunni and Shiite brothers will continue their unity and will strengthen their bonds as before and even more seriously.
Ahlul Bayt World Assembly's prayers are with the victims of the sordid crime. May God's blessings be bestowed upon them.
