ABWA’s Statement on anniversary of demolition of al-Baqi Imams’ tombs

On the anniversary of the demolition of the holy tombs of the Imams in al-Baqi cemetery (in Shawwal 8, 1344 H, April 22, 1926) by the Wahhabi sect, the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly issued a statement.

The statement reads, “Offering its condolences on the painful incident of demolishing the tombs of divine light sources, infallible religious leaders, pure Imams (a.s.) to all lovers and followers of the Quran and Etrat (AhlulBayt), as well as re-condemning the recent crimes in Afghanistan, Yemen and especially the countless crimes of the occupying regime in Quds And their disgraceful supporters, the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly invites everyone to steadfastness, insight and religious zeal and a rational struggle against the thoughts of darkness and misguidance.”

The statement is as follows:

In the Name of Allah, the Crusher of the disobedient, the Destroyer of the oppressors

The demolition of the holy graves of the Infallible Imams (a.s.) in the Holy Cemetery of al-Baqi, is reminiscent of one of the most ignorant actions taken by Wahhabism, a group far from rationality and virtue, on the 8th of Shawwal 1344 AH, in which the holy shrine of the Infallible Imams (a.s.) in al-Baqi was destroyed and in the superficial sight of Wahhabists, turned into a mound of dust.

Ignorance is the biggest problem that the enlightenment of dear Islam has tried to solve, and surprisingly, throughout history, some sects have selfishly resisted this enlightening light, depriving themselves and others.

If today the hands of the Wahhabi, Takfiri, and Daeshi sects are stained with the pure blood of the oppressed and defenseless children of Afghanistan in the Sayed Al-Shuhada (a.s.) school, and if those who are oblivious to the path of their predecessors in the war crimes against the defenseless people of Yemen, insulting the holy places and shrines in Syria and Iraq, attacking, destroying and blowing up mosques and graves, and sharing thousands of other shameful stains against the Abrahamic religions in the world, all rooted in their insistence on remaining in ignorance.

Here, the common sense of humanity has the right to ask, “Why do these claimants of Islam and the false servants of the Masjid al-Haram and Al-Masjid an-Nabawi, today as Muslims, turn a blind eye to the attacks of the child-killing and occupying regime in Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Gaza Strip, and with their deadly silence, they covered up these crimes?! Isn’t it true that in the holy Quran, Al-Aqsa Mosque is mentioned as equal to the Masjid al-Haram?! (Quran 17:1)

Offering its condolences on the painful incident of demolishing the tombs of divine light sources, infallible religious leaders, pure Imams (a.s.) to all lovers and followers of the Quran and Etrat (AhlulBayt), as well as re-condemning the recent crimes in Afghanistan, Yemen and especially the countless crimes of the occupying regime in Quds And their disgraceful supporters, the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly invites everyone to steadfastness, insight and religious zeal, and a rational struggle against the thoughts of darkness and misguidance.

We believe that with the increasing radiance of the enlightening and guiding teachings of the Quran and the AhlulBayt (a.s.), the humiliating end of this path of ignorance and crime and these inhuman and anti-human rights actions is about to come.

“They desire to put out the light of Allah with their mouths, but Allah will perfect His light though the faithless should be averse.” (Quran 61:8)
