Pointing out that the main task of a scholar is to preserve the religion of the people with proper education and the language of action, the Secretary General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly stated, “Ayatollah Rudbari devoted himself to people and their religious affairs. With his demise, the seminary of Gilan has lost one of its greatest pillars.”

With the demise of Ayatollah Rudbari, Gilan seminary lost one of its pillars

On Friday evening, March 25, 2022, during the commemoration ceremony of the late Ayatollah Sayed Mojtaba Rodbari in the Safi Mosque in Rasht, Ayatollah Reza Ramazani stated, “The role that the Holy Prophet (p.b.u.h) played in guiding human beings was entrusted to the Infallibles (p.b.u.h) after his death, and today, the same role is entrusted to religious scholars.”

Referring to the life of Ayatollah Rudbari, the Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly said, “In Rasht, he began his education and self-cultivation in the presence of scholars, including Ayatollah Ziaberi, and after emigrating to Qom, he continued in the presence of Grand Ayatollah Borujerdi and Ayatollah Mirza Hashem Amoli.”

“Ayatollah Rudbari also studied for 23 years in the presence of Imam Khomeini (r.a.). He studied in Najaf in the presence of dignitaries, including Grand Ayatollah Khoi,” he added.

Explaining that in terms of comprehensiveness, Ayatollah Rudbari was influenced by the personality of Imam Khomeini (r.a.), Ayatollah Ramazani clarified, “He himself once said that he learned his religious belief from Imam Khomeini (r.a.).”

“A religious scholar can do his educational duty only if he has first purified himself and is polite,” the representative of the people of Gilan in the Assembly of Leadership Experts emphasized, “When Ayatollah Rudbari arrived in Gilan in 1979, he was an undisputed mujtahid with an educational role.”

“One who wants to be a teacher and educator, must first educate himself before educating others, and one who has educated himself deserves praise,” he mentioned.

Emphasizing that the effect of the language of action is greater than the language of speech, Ayatollah Ramazani added, “Sometimes the effect of a human behavior is more than 100 hours of talking.”

Pointing out that the individual and social reform is done with religious teachings, the Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly emphasized, “The scholar must teach religious teachings through his behavior and speech, so that the religion of the people is strengthened and grows.”

“People can leave their religious affairs to the divine scholar. It is in this way that people get the same divine structure,” he mentioned.

“Apart from theoretical sciences, Ayatollah Rudbari also had divine knowledge. One should not rely only on science and theory because relying on faith and recourse is also important,” Ayatollah Ramazani added.

Emphasizing that religious scholars should teach the truth and essence of religion to the religious community, the representative of the people of Gilan in the Assembly of Experts said, “Ayatollah Rudbari was a student of Imam Khomeini. He had accepted the Velayat-e-Faqih before the revolution and in an ijtihad manner. Ayatollah Rudbari believed that the phenomenon of religion is a matter of government.”

“Religion is not just a personal matter,” he clarified, “The phenomenology of religion leads to the conclusion that religion is effective in the reform of the individual and the reform of society, as well as individual and social rules.”

“Ayatollah Rudbari did not distance himself from politics and was not isolated. Rather, he decided not to pursue a position, but engage in religious discussions,” Ayatollah Ramazani pointed out.

“Today, many have accepted positions and become the Friday prayer leader and representative of the Supreme Leader. These positions require a lot of work and effort. But the religious authority of the people should be entrusted to someone who is immersed in religion,” added the Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly.

“Just after the victory of the Islamic Revolution, Imam Khomeini appointed Ayatollah Rudbari as the ruler of Sharia. But he asked the Imam (r.a.) for permission to conduct seminary affairs,” he continued.

Pointing out that the Islamic Revolution needs to work in the international arena, Ayatollah Ramazani emphasized, “Islam needs international missionaries who are familiar with international language and present the golden rules of religion to today’s society.”

“The world is thirsty for the Islamic Revolution discourse,” the representative of the people of Gilan in the Assembly of Leadership Experts said, “The discourse of rationality and spirituality, of the responsible type, must be revived.”

Referring to Ayatollah Rudbari’s emphasis on seminaries, he said, “With the demise of Ayatollah Rudbari, the seminary of Gilan lost one of its greatest pillars. Many of the clergies were great graduates of this science.”

“Ayatollah Rudbari had dedicated himself to the people and their religious affairs,” Ayatollah Ramazani added, “He was respected by all shopkeepers and guilds, and this shows that whoever does his duty properly, people will praise and honor him.”

“Ayatollah Rudbari’s behavior, deeds and politeness were exemplary,” he mentioned, stating that being among the people is one of the greatest duties of religious scholars.

According to Ayatollah Ramazani, the main task of a divine scholar is to preserve the religion of the people with proper education and the language of action.

“We have distanced ourselves from the younger generation, and this has led others to seize this opportunity,” the Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly added, “To understand religion correctly, seminaries must take action, and religious scholars must enlighten.”

“Today we must be up to date and learn and teach religion in all its aspects,” he clarified, “The Islamic Revolution revived various aspects of religion, including its political and social position.”

“Today, the importance of the social aspects of religion is seen in the international arena. Today, Islam has emerged with authority in the world. There was once a confrontation between East and West in the world, but today it is a confrontation between Islam and arrogance,” emphasized Ayatollah Ramazani.

Pointing out that today, Islam, in the exact, deep, and comprehensive sense of the word, is a prerequisite for the felicity of this world and the hereafter, the representative of the people of Gilan in the Assembly of Leadership Experts said, “This religion has brought honor and invites humanity to a good life.”

“The religious scholar is trustworthy, honest in speech, and faithful in religiosity. He tries to instill faith in the true meaning in society so that its effects can be shown in society in the future,” he clarified.

“The greatest mission of a religious scholar is to strengthen the religiosity of the people,” stated Ayatollah Ramazani, emphasizing that the result of faith and belief of a person should be its effect in himself at first.

“The young generation of Gilan has a lot of capacity. They are willing to look for people with knowledge that will affect their souls and minds,” the Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly added, “It is necessary to think about the seminaries of Gilan and prepare the ground for inviting seminary scholars from Qom.”

“Our ethical school is universal. The phrase “what you like for yourself, like for others” is one of the rules and principles of universal ethics. Today the world is thirsty for this literature,” he added.

In the end, while emphasizing that efforts should be made to collect and compile the memoirs, manuscripts and works of ... Ayatollah Rudbari, Ayatollah Ramazani said, “Sayed Saleh, the righteous son of Ayatollah Rudbari, is a genius, educated and polite man. Therefore, the people of the city and the representative of the Supreme Leader should ask him to be present in Gilan and continue his father’s path so that part of the loss of the deceased can be compensated.”
