In this meeting, which was held for three hours in the Caspian Hall of Espinas Hotel in Tehran, Dr. Roknabadi, the Deputy Advisor for International Affairs of the Assembly, after welcoming the participants and thanking the Iraqi guests for their speeches, congratulated Eid Ghadir Khumm. Then, after expressing her gratitude to Dr. Khazali, for hosting this fruitful and valuable meeting, she said, “Islamic Revolution demarginalized Iranian Muslim woman, giving her an identity. This revolution provided a suitable environment for the healthy activity of women in various family, scientific, social, and political fields, and proved to them that women, like men, have many talents and abilities, and can contribute to the progress and excellence of society in all fields.”

Further, referring to the words of the Supreme Leader of the Revolution, she considered the resolving of the weakening of the family as one of the priorities of the Islamic Republic. “The Supreme Leader has presented crucial opinions about women’s affairs, especially in the family, which are suitable for solving the contemporary problem of the family in the whole Islamic world. He also considered men and women, especially jurists and intellectuals, to be responsible for providing a brilliant example of family life in Islam, to save the world from the moral decline that is imminent for it. Referring to the issue of women and family, the Supreme Leader of the Revolution expressed, “There is a lot of work to be done. But theorizing and creating a discourse in this regard is a real need that should be paid attention to by clerics, intellectuals, and experts in seminaries and universities”.”

Further, Dr. Roknabadi stated, “It is important to formulate a model of family stability based on Islamic teachings and the AhlulBayt (a.s.) school as a curative model, which includes recognizing the importance of the family in Islam, the centrality of God in the family, a relationship based on love and friendship, compatibility and adherence to Islamic ethics, and the restoration of women’s dignity.”

At the end of the seminar, she said, “By introducing the best female role models in the Quran and Islam for performing duties, and then influence on cultural and social developments, efforts should be made to achieve the development of Islamic culture and the realization of the new Islamic civilization.”

It is worth mentioning that this session was held with the presence of about 50 women active in cultural affairs, as well as female parliamentarians and the president and vice president of the women’s faction from the Islamic Republic of Iran, as well as Iraq, Lebanon, Afghanistan, and Mexico. In this session, the participants exchanged their opinions and suggestions about the issues and laws regarding women and family in Iran and Iraq.
