بسم الله الرحمن الرحیم

In the Name of God, the Compassionate, the Merciful

With great sadness, we learned about the demise of Ayatollah Sayed Mohammad Hussain Mortazavi Langaroudi.

The deceased was one of the jurists residing in Tehran, and the eldest son of the late Grand Ayatollah Haj Sayed Morteza Mortazavi Langaroudi (r.a.). He participated in the classes of dignitaries including Imam Khomeini (r.a.), Ayatollah Borujerdi (r.a.), Allameh Tabatabai (r.a.), Sheikh Abdul Nabi Araki (r.a.), Sheikh Mohammad Taqi Amoli (r.a), Sheikh Abulhasan Sha’arani (r.a.) and Mirza Mahdi Elahi Qomshei (r.a.). He was one of the special trustees whom the late Imam Khomeini (r.a.) confirmed his authenticity in a letter in 1974 to take charge of Hasbiyyah affairs and receive Islamic funds in Tehran.

He was also the imam of the Haj Abulfatah Mosque and the manager of the Fat’hiye Mosque for many years and was very diligent in educating clergy and believers in Tehran.

I offer my condolences to Imam Mahdi (a.s.), the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, grand sources of emulation, seminaries of Qom and Tehran, all clerics and his enthusiasts, and his respected family, especially his eldest son, Hojat al-Islam Sayed Mohammad Reza Mortazavi Langaroudi for the tragic loss of this divine scholar, and I pray for his forgiveness, mercy and rest in the presence of Almighty God, I pray for patience for all the members of the bereaved family and his relatives.
