Media literacy workshop will be held by the Office for Educational Affairs of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly for non-Iranian clergies related to the Assembly.
The head of the General Office for Educational Affairs of the Assembly announced, “This training program entitled “Cyberspace activity techniques”, will be held by Hassan Sadraei Aref for non-Iranian clergies related to the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly, in three workshop sessions in the building of the Assembly in Qom.”
“Entering the 21st century coincided with the information and communication revolution, and society people have been affected by media bombardment. So that the today’s media plays a major role in shaping behavior, beliefs, emotions, and especially personal and social relationships. Media literacy is now one of the most effective monitoring tools in many countries, and the rise of information and communication systems is increasingly highlighting the need for media literacy education in the society. Because of the messages produced by various media around the world, the audience suffers from a kind of confusion and hesitation in choosing and selecting the received messages,” stated Hojat al-Islam Valiullah Madanipour, regarding the necessity of holding a media literacy workshop.
“Previously, literacy was limited to the ability to read and write, but today literacy has found a concept beyond, broader, and more complex. Therefore, one of the tools for publishing and spreading Islamic knowledge in the field of propagation is the media, and the clergy need to be equipped with it to have a better understanding of the issue,” he also said.
