In his speech at the opening ceremony of the new academic year of AhlulBayt (a.s.) International University, the Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly said, “Supreme Leader of the Revolution has three recommendations for university students. First, they need to learn science properly; second, self-purification and attention to moral issues; third, the importance of health, that is, the university should seek the health of the society as well as the health of the body. Because physical health plays an important role in students’ scientific activities.”
“Science is one of the characteristics of Islamic civilization,” Ayatollah Reza Ramazani stated, “Once, Muslims and Islamic scientists were the center of science. These scientific developments among Muslims must continue precisely and profoundly. This is one of the duties of students that they should keep in mind for the development of the Islamic Republic of Iran.”
“In today’s world, the only place where a religious revolution has occurred is Iran. This government has a maximum view towards understanding religious issues. Therefore, we hope that religious science which derived from the real issues of the Islamic world will find its place in Islamic countries and be a solution for the realization of Islamic civilization,” added the representative of the people of Gilan province in the Assembly of Leadership Experts.
“Science must be combined with ethics, spirituality and self-purification and be an opportunity for the growth of society. Today, as time goes on, the need for morality and spirituality increases. However, some argue that what is the necessity of ethics. But in response, it should be said that if science is combined with ethics, it will bring more benefits to the human society,” Ayatollah Ramazani continued.
“More attention should be paid to the elites of the society. One of the tasks of the universities is to select elite young people so that they can be influential in their fields of activities and can have a position and place in society. This is also one of the important objectives of AhlulBayt (a.s.) International University,” he expressed.
“The Islamic Republic of Iran has presented a special political system and model called religious democracy. In this system, the opportunity is provided for people to express their opinions in different ways. Professors should teach students to be thinkers, because practicing philosophy is much more important than studying philosophy,” emphasized the Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly.
The actions of the West have not resulted in anything other than destruction and bloodshed: Haddad Adel
Further in the ceremony, Gholam Ali Haddad Adel, the head of the Academy of Persian Language and Literature, and a member of the Expediency Discernment Council, said, “Religious and Islamic government is different from conventional world governments. Immediately after the victory of the Islamic Revolution, we constantly witnessed various conspiracies and seditions from the global arrogance.”
“Western countries say that religion is a personal matter and related to the relationship between man and God, and its entry into the administration of countries should be avoided. Therefore, they are angry that Iran is governed based on Islam,” he said.
“Fourteen years before World War I, there was no war, a period called the Golden Age by Europeans. But after this period, the World War I, and twenty years after that, the World War II broke out. It has been about eighty years since the end of World War II. But has the world been without war for a single day during this time?” added the member of the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution.
“Now see what the civilization, claiming the capability of ruling the world, did to Afghanistan, Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, Yemen and Palestine. Therefore, I believe that the West does not deserve to lead the world. Because its actions have not resulted in anything other than looting, destruction and bloodshed,” Haddad Adel continued.
“No nation becomes strong without a strong education system. The root of the strength of any nation is in school and university, and if you seek, there is not even one exception in this case. Therefore, any society that wants to progress, must take care of the education,” noted a member of the Council of Research and Educational Planning.
