Following heavy rains in India's Hyderabad region, which killed and displaced large numbers of people, Ayatollah Reza Ramazani, Secretary General of the of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly issued a message to Mr. Asad al-Din Oveysi, head of the Assembly of the Muslim Union of India.
The text of the message is as follows:
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Excellency, Mr. Asad al-Din Oveysi
Head of the Muslim Union of India
Assalomu Alaykum
Unprecedented and damaging floods in and around the city of Hyderabad, which has seriously damaged the large population of Muslims in this area and caused material and psychological damage, and destroyed the homes of many of them, affected and saddened us.
For centuries, the Hyderabad region has been the residence of the lovers of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) and also one of the centers for the spread of the culture of the Qur'an and Atrat in the Indian subcontinent and beyond.
Expressing our condolences to the survivors of this tragedy and wishing them patience and health, I, on behalf of the members of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly around the world, I declare that despite the coronavirus conditions and limited communication, we will help our Muslim sisters and brothers as much as possible for us.
We hope that the government and people of India, as well as the governments and Islamic nations of the world, will do their best to help the victims.
“And We will most certainly try you with some what of fear and hunger and loss of property and lives and fruits; and give good news to the patient” (Holy Quran, 2:155)
Reza Ramazani
Secretary General of the Ahlulbayt (a.s.) World Assembly
