ABWA Official Website – On Monday, May 29, 2023, the international conference “Islamic Revolution and Contemporary Society; Opportunities and Challenges” was held in the central campus of Tehran University with the participation of Ayatollah Reza Ramazani, Secretary General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly.
In his speech at this conference, stating that Islam and the Quran have a legal framework, Ayatollah Ramazani said, “Islam is rationality-oriented, spirituality-oriented, justice-oriented, and dignity-oriented. This is Islam that we are talking about, which has a political philosophy.”
“There are more than four thousand fake spirituality in Europe and America,” he stated, “When we study them, we see that their two common features are evading responsibility and fighting responsibility.”
“Religion (Islam) should not be considered an individual experience. Rather, it has come for many and diverse spheres of human life, and it also has a kind of collectivism about man. Since man is looking for the future, religion is concerned with both worldly life and the afterlife,” emphasized the Secretary General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly.
“The Islamic Republic has been formed based on leadership derived from ideological and theological belief. Wilayah is one of the important topics that have been raised in different ways in theology and jurisprudence. In the definition of the system, content and format have been considered, and this is a kind of combination between tradition and modernity,” stated the member of the Assembly of Experts for Leadership.
“Islamic Revolution of Iran completely avoids the unconditional version of modernity and never wants to promote obscenity and vulgarity. The form of the Revolution is republicanism, and the most popular revolution both in terms of occurrence and survival has been the Islamic Revolution of Iran,” Ayatollah Ramazani said.
“One of the most important tasks of scientific centers is to explain the political philosophy of Islam and answer questions and doubts,” he continued.
“The Islamic Republic system needs to train efficient staff for different managerial departments. Popularity and social solidarity that exist in the Revolution should not be harmed in any way. This issue has shown itself in various sectors, including people’s participation in demonstrations and elections, and it needs to be strengthened day by day,” added the Secretary General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly.
“Scientific and technological development, independence and preventing foreign interference, standing against oppression, and supporting the oppressed are among the other opportunities and strengths of the Islamic Republic. At the beginning of the Revolution, there was a confrontation between the Eastern and Western blocs. But today, such a thing is no longer the case. Rather, there is a conflict between Islam and global arrogance,” Ayatollah Ramazani said.
“In a hadith, Imam Ali (a.s.) has introduced the cause of the failure of governments: “The collapse and failure of governments and civilizations are due to four reasons: Ignoring principles (important matters), indulging in sub-principles (less important matters), employing lowly people, and dismissing virtuous people”,” he said.
“Our cultural identity is based on rational, spiritual, just, and dignified Islam, “Secretary General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly said, “The output of liberal culture is obscenity and vulgarity. While in religious culture, responsibility prevails.”
“The most important achievement of the Islamic Republic of Iran is that it has manifested religion in the social arena,” he emphasized.
“Among the other threats and challenges that the Islamic Republic is facing are the confrontation between nationalism and Islamism, the intensification of ethnocentrism, the weakening of Velayat-e Faqih and Leadership, internal division and differences, the weakening of revolutionary and jihadist thought and spirit, neglecting the training of human resources,” Ayatollah Ramazani said at the end of his speech.
