Ayatollah Ramazani congratulated the appointment of Hezbollah’s new Secretary General
In a message to Hojat al-Islam Naim Qassem, the Secretary General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly stated, “We are confident that you will be a worthy successor for your worthy predecessors.”
ABWA Official Website – Ayatollah Reza Ramazani, Secretary General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly, in a message to Hojat al-Islam Naim Qassem, a member of the Assembly, extended congratulations on his appointment as the new Secretary General of the Lebanese Hezbollah.
In his message, the Secretary General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly emphasized, “The immediate appointment of the new Secretary General of Lebanese Hezbollah, despite the severe challenges that Lebanon, the Resistance Front, and the region are suffering from, reflects the robustness of Hezbollah and its formidable resistance, and its capability to confront aggression, occupation, crimes, and threats.”
The message, which was originally issued in Arabic, is as follows:
بسم الله الرحمن الرحیم
In the Name of God, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Your Excellency, Secretary General of Lebanese Hezbollah
Honorable Mujahid Allameh Sheikh Naim Qassem
Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh
In a rightful decision, the members of the leadership council of the victorious Hezbollah appoint you as the new Secretary General of the movement to bear its blessed flag, continue the hard path which requires many sacrifices, and achieve one of the “احدی الحسنیین” (two good things), that is, either victory or martyrdom. This immediate appointment, despite the severe challenges that Lebanon, the Resistance Front, and the region are suffering from, reflects the robustness of Hezbollah, its formidable resistance, and its capability to confront aggression, occupation, crimes, and threats.
To understand the importance of this spiritual position, it is enough to know that a successful and unique experience throughout the history of Islam, humanity, and jihad has been achieved by the master of the resistance martyrs, the martyr of the path of Quds, Allamah Sayed Hassan Nasrallah, and his lifelong companion, martyr Sayed Hashem Safieddine, and his predecessor, martyr Sayed Abbas Mousavi, and all the field commanders; and we believe that you are the worthy successor for your worthy predecessors.
What made you worthy of this position was your experience in establishing Hezbollah, the initiation of the Islamic movement in Lebanon before the victory of the Islamic Revolution of Iran, your special attention, from the beginning of your life to the cultural, educational, and training of a faithful, mujahid generation steadfast in the direction of authentic Muhammadan Islam and the AhlulBayt (a.s.) school, your connection with the late Imam Khomeini (r.a.) and Imam Khamenei, holding the position of Deputy Secretary General of Hezbollah during the tenure of martyr Sayed Abbas Mousavi, and martyr Sayed Hassan Nasrallah, your concern and pursuit of many important files, including Hezbollah’s active participation in legal institutions in the Lebanese government, life, society, and decision-making mechanisms, your approach in supporting the resistance, and the Resistance Axis, establishing justice in the region, especially in Palestine, as the central cause the Islamic Ummah, your eagerness to take steps on the path of realizing dignity and security for the Islamic Ummah, and your emphasis on the necessity of unity among the children of the Ummah from all its strata, helping to strengthen this path, recording its experiences through your valuable speeches and writings; and all the mujahideen, the resistance community, and the nobles of the world, await your actions in this position, and the fulfillment of this blessed mission, as the righteous successor in this path.
On my behalf, and behalf of all members of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly, of which you have been a prominent member, and on behalf of the associates, staff, and missionaries of the Assembly, as well as all Muslims and resistance fighters, including the followers of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) school, I congratulate this appointment to you and the Leadership Council, the supporters of Hezbollah, the fighters of the Islamic Resistance, the resistance groups, the brave and steadfast people of Lebanon, and all Muslims. I ask God to strengthen your steps, grant you success, protect you, and grant the fighters of the Resistance success to achieve a definitive victory, by God’s permission, under your wise leadership, because He is the best listener and responder.
In verse 214 of Surah Al-Baqarah, God Almighty said: “أَمْ حَسِبْتُمْ أَنْ تَدْخُلُوا الْجَنَّةَ وَلَمَّا يَأْتِكُمْ مَثَلُ الَّذِينَ خَلَوْا مِنْ قَبْلِكُمْ ۖ مَسَّتْهُمُ الْبَأْسَاءُ وَالضَّرَّاءُ وَزُلْزِلُوا حَتَّىٰ يَقُولَ الرَّسُولُ وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا مَعَهُ مَتَىٰ نَصْرُ اللَّهِ ۗ أَلَا إِنَّ نَصْرَ اللَّهِ قَرِيبٌ” (Or do you think that you would enter the garden while yet the state of those who have passed away before you has not come upon you; distress and affliction befell them and they were shaken violently, so that the Apostle and those who believed with him said: When will the help of Allah come? Now surely the help of Allah is nigh!)

It is worth mentioning that on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, the Leadership Council of the Lebanese Hezbollah announced in a statement the appointment of Hojat al-Islam Naim Qassem as the new Secretary General of the movement. During the lifetime of martyr Sayed Hassan Nasrallah, Sheikh Naim Qassem, for more than three decades, was the Deputy Secretary General of Lebanese Hezbollah.
