The Conference “Study of the priorities and strategies for disseminating the teachings of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) in the international arena; with emphasis on the Indian Subcontinent, Southeast Asia, and Latin America regions” will be held on Wednesday, December 15, 2021, at 10:00 AM in the conference hall of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly in Qom.
Regarding the history of the Islam in Indonesia, the representative of the Supreme Leader in this country stated, “According to some historians, Islam entered Indonesia peacefully in the 2nd or 3rd century AH, and the Iranians brought Islam to the region on business trips.”
“Muslims also came to Indonesia from Gujarat for economic and commercial activities. Also, a group of Sadat Arabs migrated to this country from Hadhramaut region,” Hojat al-Islam Abdul Majid Hakim Elahi added.
“According to historical documents, the Islam that entered Indonesia was based on the principles of the AhlulBayt (a.s.). Thus, throughout history, Shiite governments have ruled in eastern Indonesia, and Shiite relics abound in the region,” he also said.
“Before the Islamic Revolution of Iran, Indonesian Muslims sought a theory to prove their legitimacy and realization of their right. Therefore, they resorted to Salafism and socialist schools. But after the Islamic Revolution of Iran led by Imam Khomeini, the tendency to Shia in Indonesia increased, and the youth of Indonesia found the way to justice and the struggle against oppression, in following Imam Khomeini. Therefore, the Islamic Revolution of Iran had a tremendous impact on the minds of Indonesian youth,” he stated, regarding the tendency towards Islam and Shia in Indonesia after the Islamic Revolution of Iran.
