ABWA Official Website – On the sidelines of the “Lights of Guidance” exhibition, ABNA reporter interviewed Dr. Ayat Peyman, Secretary General of the General Assembly of the World Center for Shiite Studies.
About the “Lights of Guidance” exhibition, he said, “One of the important necessities was that the educational, research and cultural institutions that operate in the international arena, gather together in such a space in a short period of time, to establish communication, interaction and knowledge of each other, and to find out about new publications, research and education.”
“The efforts of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly for this measure are very admirable and commendable,” he added, “As a member of this organization, I express my gratitude to the Assembly. It was very significant in terms of content. The exhibition was also excellent in terms of method and information processing, and the centers, using modern methods, have presented their activities very well. In particular, the Assembly’s data on the situation of the Shiites worldwide, which was presented in a special booth, was very useful.”
“I suggest that the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly continuously preserve such pioneering role, and be a link between centers and institutions active in the international arena, and not be contained to exhibition activities. So that a procedure for creating communication and interaction be created between centers active in the international arena, and the information be exchanged between centers and institutions in a short period of time. This exchange of information should take place in the form of meeting and thinking together. Also, visits of officials of institutions and centers to each other’s booths should lead to visits to institutions. Because there is not much time to talk in the exhibition. Therefore, the officials of the centers and institutions need to talk with each other more throughout the year and exchange their information, experiences, and views. So that synergy and common thoughts take place continuously and permanently and not temporarily. Although temporary measures are very useful and effective,” said the Secretary General of the General Assembly of the World Center for Shiite Studies, expressing his suggestions to the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly.
“There is a communication gap between the institutions. Aligned institutions do not share their data and information with each other. The fact that seminary centers, universities, and different institutions operate individually with no connection with other institution, and they are self-centeredness is a defect. At the same time, the institutions of other religions do not act as such,” he added.
“The fact that many institutions only learn about each other’s performance at an exhibition is a flaw, and shows a chronic weakness. The “Lights of Guidance” exhibition has been able to fill and compensate a part of this gap. Therefore, it is necessary for the centers to share all their data with each other through continuous measures by the media and new communication tools,” Dr. Peyman continued.
It should be mentioned that on the establishment anniversary of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly, the exhibition of the achievements of institutions and organizations active in the international propagation of Islam, entitled “Lights of Guidance” is being held from Saturday, December 31, 2022, until January Thursday 5, 2023, in the conference hall of the Islamic Propagation Office of the Seminary.
It is also worth noting that the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly was established on December 31, 1990, with the aim of gathering Shiites, establishing relationships within the Shiite world, promoting Shiites seminaries, solving the problems of Shiites with other Islamic Denominations, and benefiting from real and legal capabilities of Shiites.
The Assembly was established by the order of Grand Ayatollah Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, on December 25, 1990, with the aim of introducing the revolutionary foundations, and thought of the Islamic system of Iran to Shiites all over the world. /345/
