In this conference, Ayatollah Ramazani stated, “The Supreme Leader’s letter to American youth and students has different dimensions, and we should not have a superficial and mere religious view of it. Considering the events that took place in more than 40 universities and 200 sit-ins in various American universities to condemn the atrocities in Gaza, this letter was addressed to the American youth.”

About the characteristics of the Supreme Leader’s letter, he said, “This will be recorded in history, and to have a correct judgment, we need to be aware of the responsibilities at different times. The key concepts in this letter are fair and with an international perspective, and the emphasis on awakening conscience and choosing a correct path are among the important points of the letter. In this letter, the emphasis on natural, human, and religious values, human resistance, the right to self-determination, revealing the truth and its path, and human assistance, shows attention to justice and human dignity. Therefore, parts of Quranic teachings are conveyed with these concepts.”

“Today, in the Western world, which advocates dignity and justice, international laws are established in various political, cultural, economic, and legal sectors. In the concepts and teachings of the Quran and the AhlulBayt (a.s.), there are many laws and teachings regarding respect for justice and human dignity and their realization, parts of which can be seen in the Supreme Leader’s letter,” continued the Secretary General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly.

“During his 35-year period of his leadership, due to the events that have happened in the world, the Supreme Leader has written three letters to European and American youth. He wants to open a new chapter of activism about religion for contemporary man, with a more detailed, comprehensive, and deeper look. All the words in the Supreme Leader’s letter have either a historical source or emphasize natural and rational aspects. In this letter, attention has been paid to two proscribing principles emphasized by Islam, i.e. avoiding oppression, and not submitting to oppression. Therefore, his literature is human, Fitrah-based, rational, and spiritual,” he continued.

“During the past 76 years, the Zionists brought two thousand terrorists into the occupied territories and usurped the Palestinian houses and villages. In 1948, the geographical boundaries of Palestine were large, but today they have been reduced to a fifth. The Zionists are not even satisfied that these areas are under the control of the Palestinians. Rather, they are trying to occupy the rest of the lands to create their so-called promised land, to make the world serve them so that the whole world becomes their servants and they become the masters,” he said.

“Why should human society decline to such an extent that it remains silent in the face of so much oppression under the domination system, and no one, even in Muslim countries, has the right to protest?! Nowadays, the place of oppressor and oppressor has completely changed, and the oppressor is introduced as oppressed! In Berlin, the Zionists have built a symbolic cemetery and have been commemorating the Holocaust for several years, and at all meetings, they speak of their innocence and the oppression they endured, and if someone protests or denies the Holocaust, will be sentenced to 3 or 10 years in prison. This is the freedom of speech that is defined in liberal countries, and they use the same issue to oppress humanity,” added the Secretary General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly.

“According to the first protocol of Zionism, ‘freedom is not just an idea’, but a tool for the development of oppression in human society,” he expressed, “The Zionists did a lot of oppression and killed many people. But when the Palestinians did an operation against them to defend themselves, they should be suppressed! Today, free people have risen from different countries of the world, because they could distinguish between the oppressed and the oppressor.”

At the end of his speech, Ayatollah Ramazani emphasized, “The Supreme Leader’s letter should be understood, and included in the textbooks so that everyone understands what is happening in the world.”

Further in the conference, Hojat al-Islam Mustafa Rostami, Head of the Supreme Leader Representation in Universities, gave a speech. “Properly conveying concepts to the general audience, is one of the problems faced by the truth front since the beginning. There are many distortions about events; and time, language, and geographical distance are distortion factors,” he said.

“What God ordained for Islam and blessed with for the Muslims was that, after the revelation of Islam and after the demise of the Prophet (p.b.u.h), the religion was not left without a leader, guardian, and guide, and the supervision and guidance of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) prevented the distortion of Islam. Of course, outside of this path, we saw disagreements that Muslims had to think of to solve,” continued the Head of the Supreme Leader Representation in Universities.

“To convey the messages, the Islamic Revolution needs regulation,” he stated, “Outside of Iran, the concept of Exporting the Revolution, first expressed by the late Imam Khomeini (a.s.), was translated to exporting terrorism! Maybe some people inside the country had the same wrong inferred. But Imam Khomeini several times emphasized that ‘we exported our Revolution to the world,’ by which he meant the negation of oppression and supporting the oppressed and justice.”

“The story of Charlie Hebdo and the assassinations that took place in France, led the Supreme Leader to write two letters to the youth of Europe within a year, showing the true face of Islam, and removing the false labels given to Islam by Western security institutions and terrorist groups like ISIS; just what Western leaders have sometimes admitted and in American debates, Trump told Hillary Clinton that ‘You created ISIS’!” he added.

“In a letter to pro-Palestinian students in the United States, the Supreme Leader addressed the need for enlightenment and turning threats into opportunities. He considered the trend of Islam in public dialogues in the world to tarnish the face of Islam as an opportunity to explain Islam. The Supreme Leader said: ‘More important than these letters is explaining them.’ One of the important missions of international students is explaining the truths of Islam, using human commonalities, and Islamic literature and concepts, which the Supreme Leader also mentioned,” Hojat al-Islam Rostami said.

“I hope that along with the efforts of Mujahideen of Islam, AhlulBayt (a.s.), martyrs of the path of truth, and the Islamic Revolution, we will witness the rising of Imam Mahdi (a.s.) and the general movement and trend of the world in the direction of negating all oppression and tyranny,” he noted in the end.
