Change, transformation, promotion, basic principles of ABWA’s new structure: Ayatollah Ramazani

On Monday, June 28, 2021, in the presence of Ayatollah Reza Ramazani, Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly, the introductory ceremony of “Director General of Studies and Research”, and “Director General of Cultural Services and Publications”, was held in the assembly building in Qom.

In this ceremony, while condoling the anniversary of Dr. Beheshti's martyrdom and congratulating the Judiciary Week, Ayatollah Ramazani said, “Ayatollah Beheshti was a unique figure. In addition to his great influence on the Islamic Revolution, he was a prominent figure in the international arena and his relations with Shiites and Muslims. He had a significant influence on Muslim relations at the Hamburg Mosque.”

“Many people have been sacrificed for this revolution. Prominent figures, even Marja Taqlid (the Sources of Emulation), have been martyred in the path of the Revolution, and we must continue their path,” he reminded, stating that the figures of the (Islamic) Revolution should be commemorated.

“The activity of the assembly is qualitative. Qualifying, following the affairs of the Shiites, and being the scientific and spiritual reference of the followers of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) around the world are among the duties of the Assembly. Being a scientific and spiritual reference for the Shiites of the world is time-consuming and may take forty years. Therefore, it needs a plan, strategy, and structure,” said the Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly, regarding the activities of the Assembly.

“Great steps have been taken. We must review the past. There may have been many actions in some parts, but they have not been seen. Such activities should be expressed and strengthened,” he said, regarding the need to identify shortcomings in the activities of the Assembly.

“The change discourse must be common in form and content among officials and staff of the Assembly. Institutionalizing change in the body of the structure, and trying to remove obstacles, are essential axes in the activities of the new era,” stated Ayatollah Ramazani, emphasizing the importance of moving the staff of the Assembly based on the change discourse.

“In the new era, priorities must be assessed and determined according to circumstances. In the development of the new structure, a lot of studies and details have been considered, and minor changes may be made and completed in the implementation phase,” he said while appreciating the efforts of former officials of the Assembly.

“This year, in addition to advancing the change movement, we will try to evaluate the new structure, and if there are any problems, will be fixed,” continued the Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly, describing the compilation of the new structure as a novel and heavy task.

“All sections will be evaluated qualitatively. We will have a six-month evaluation, and after the change, the development should be evident,” he continued, noting that “evaluation” will be part of the activities in the new structure.

“We seek to increase efficiency in activities, based on conditions and requirements,” continued Ayatollah Ramazani, mentioning that change, transformation, and promotion as the basic principles of the new structure.

“Organization means a system whose components are interconnected and pursue goals. Each part should not act as a separate island. Therefore, the deputies must be in touch with each other. All actions must be under the organization,” he said, emphasizing the need to introduce the new system to the staff.

“It is necessary to establish a transformational view in the minds. Achieving goals is not possible without organization and structure,” stated the Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly, while advising the Deputy for Scientific and Cultural Affairs of the Assembly to hold briefings to introduce the new system to the staff.

“All research and study activities of the Assembly should be coordinated with the office for Scientific and Cultural Affairs, and the General Directorate of Studies and research,” he said, regarding the General Directorate of “Studies and Research”.

At the ceremony, Ayatollah Ramazani awarded the letters of appointment to Hojat al-Islam Dr. Mehdi Farmanian, Director General of Studies and Research, and Hojat al-Islam Sayed Mohammad Reza Al-Ayub, Director General of Cultural Services and Publications of the Assembly.

At the beginning of the ceremony, Hojat al-Islam Ahmad Ahmadi Tabar, the deputy for scientific and cultural affairs of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly delivered a speech.
