Sheikh Mohammad Hassan Akhtari, Ahlul Bayt World Assembly's secretary general, in an interview said that Imams play such key role in attracting people to mosques that no one else is equal to them in this regard.

He added: If a mosque becomes a source of reference for people through an Imam's efforts, the community will consider the mosque as a center too. He stressed that: Imams can attract people to mosques and create a strong bond between people and the mosque through pleasant and acceptable manners, statement of deep scientific and religious arguments, and desired subjects. Therefore Imams play the most significant role in making mosques the centers of the community.

He then explained: one of our problems is that there are no mosques in many rural areas. To deal with this issue the government must allocate a budget for building mosques in areas where there are not any [mosques].

At first we must build mosques, then encourage people to be actively present in the mosque. This presence will definitely lead the mosques into becoming the centers of the community.

A mosque is a religious and cultural base. Once we build the mosques we must begin to employ the intellectual and rational potential in the mosque. Authorities must stress on the fact that mosques are the very base and ground for religion. Therefore they must take propagation of religious ideas, religious insight, and ideological and spiritual arguments into serious consideration. Also active Imams and Board of Trustees who would lead the mosque towards the high aims can have positive effects on centralization of mosques in the community.

Mosques which are dynamic and active and have many participants can help the centralization of mosques in the community. In order to make a mosques truly dynamic, we must pave the way for meeting people's intellectual, ideological and religious needs by considering them scientifically, rationally, and exactly. Mosques can also meet spiritual needs of the people. Thus if the proposed scientific arguments be related to issues and needs of the day, they will be highly effective and consequentially will lead to centralization of the mosques in the community.
