This book, which is a collection of prayers narrated by Imam Sajjad (a.s.), contains 54 prayers and supplications said by that imam, and the Imam’s sons, Imam Baqir (a.s.) and Zayd, his other son, wrote it into two versions.
In addition to perfect eloquence, the prayers of this book have divine knowledge and certain teachings.
In these supplications, uniquely and innovatively, Imam Sajjad (a.s.) has presented a clear image of Islamic teachings and the reality of the Islamic society of his era and has stated the duties of Muslims.
Some of the topics implicitly mentioned in these prayers are as follows: Islamic belief issues, including pure monotheism, the names of Allah, prophethood, love for the Prophet Muhammad (p.b.u.h), Imamate, Resurrection, Islam, angels; Ethical topics, Dhikrs and duas; political, economic, social, military affairs; Man and the world, science, history, and issues related to physical and mental health.
The first supplication of this collection is titled “In Praise of the Dignified and Almighty God”, and the last one is “In Relief of Sorrow and Grief”.
Sahifa Sajjadiyya is translated by Sayed Ali Al-Hussaini Al-Buheti into Kermanji Kurdish and the Publication House of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly published it in medium octavo size.
