ABWA Secretary-General Meets Custodian of Imam Hussain’s (a.s.) Holy Shrine in Karbala
Ayatollah Reza Ramezani, Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly, met with Hojat al-Islam Sheikh Abdul Mahdi Karbalai, the Custodian of the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain (a.s.) in Karbala
During his visit to Karbala and presence at the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain (a.s.), Ayatollah Reza Ramazani, Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly, along with his accompanying delegation, met with Hojat al-Islam Sheikh Abdul Mahdi Karbalai, the Custodian of the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain (a.s.).
The meeting focused on the activities of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly and joint programs between the Assembly and the administration of the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain (a.s.).
In this meeting, Ayatollah Ramezani was accompanied by Hojat al-Islam Mohammad Ali Moinian, Deputy for International Affairs of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly; Hojat al-Islam Sayed Mohammad Reza Al-e Ayyub, the Assembly’s representative in Iraq; Hassan Khakrand, Advisor to the Secretary-General on African and Arab countries; and Dr. Sayed Mohsen Al-e Batool, professor at the AhlulBayt (a.s.) International University.
At the beginning of the meeting, Ayatollah Ramezani extended congratulations on Eid al-Fitr to the Custodian of the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain (a.s.) and presented a report on the Assembly’s latest international educational, religious, and cultural initiatives. He highlighted the efforts of the Assembly’s members and missionaries, ABNA News Agency, AhlulBayt (a.s.) University, Thaqalayn Satellite Channel, WikiShia, and its publishing and translation efforts.
He also expressed his gratitude for the cooperation of the Administration Office of the Holy Shrine during the Arbaeen pilgrimage in 2024, particularly in organizing joint expert conferences with the Assembly. He stressed the importance of continuing and expanding this collaboration for this year’s Arbaeen programs.
Hojat al-Islam Karbalai, the Custodian of the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain (a.s.), warmly welcomed the Secretary-General and the accompanying delegation, and reaffirmed the Shrine administration’s full readiness to collaborate with the Assembly in holding joint cultural and religious programs during Arbaeen and throughout the year.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Hojat al-Islam Al-e Ayyub, Head of the Assembly’s office in Iraq, delivered a report on the Assembly’s activities in the country to the Custodian of the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain (a.s.).
