The 29th International Exhibition of the Holy Quran started with the participation of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly.

After a two-year hiatus, on Saturday, April 16, 2022, at the same time as the birth of Imam Hassan (a.s.), the 29th International Quran Exhibition began in the Great Prayer Hall of Imam Khomeini (r.a.) in Tehran.

The ceremony was held in the presence of Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, Mohammad Mahdi Ismaili, Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance, and a group of reciters, memorizers, and activists of Quran.

At the opening ceremony, while congratulating the birthday of Imam Hassan (a.s.), Mohammad Mahdi Ismaili, Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance, said, “There was not enough time to hold a face-to-face exhibition this year, and in about a month the colleagues, with a lot of effort, prepared the conditions for holding the exhibition in person. Of course, due to the general vaccination, which was carried out by the revolutionary government, the sixth courier of the Covid-19 was passed with the least cost and difficulty, and we were able to hold the Quran exhibition in person.”

Holding an exhibition in an area of 18,000 square meters

Noting that this year there was an emphasis on holding the exhibition in person, the Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance said, “Due to the two-year closure of various society activities, we needed to hold Quranic meetings and circles, and the closure of the Quran exhibition had negative effects. Therefore, with the efforts of colleagues in the Deputy of Quran and Itrat of the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance, the exhibition is being held.”

“Initially, there was less space for the exhibition. But as we progressed, we were presented with good plans and ideas, and finally the exhibition was held in an area of 18,000 square meters, in 45 sections, and various institutions helped in this regard,” he continued.

“More than 2,500 institutions have been registered in the Ministry of Guidance, most of which were eager to participate in the exhibition, and today we see the active presence of institutions in the exhibition,”‌ Ismaili said, referring to the active presence of non-governmental organizations in this year’s exhibition.

In another part of the opening ceremony of the Quran exhibition, Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, stated, “This year’s exhibition will be held in memory of the precious martyr, Soleimani. Today, we are all indebted to the dear martyrs, materially and spiritually.”

Relying on the Quran, Palestinian youth resisting Zionist regime alone

The Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly continued, “At a time when all the world countries are trying to eliminate the name of Palestine, the light of the Quran in the hearts of the Palestinian youth has made them hate the Zionist regime and stand alone and fight in the center of power of the Zionist regime, Tel Aviv. This is the culture of the Quran.”

“Ramadan is a month of goodness and blessings and self-improvement. This month is undoubtedly the most fundamental base for our society building. Of course, some religious leaders believe that this month is the month in which man prepares himself to have an understanding of the Quran and the Qadr Night. This is a great opportunity, and it is the spring of the believers for self-improvement, and we should appreciate this month,” Qalibaf stated.

“The Quran and the Quranic culture, and the use of the capacity of the Quranic teachings, are all blessings that our society can use in material and spiritual, individual and collective dimensions,” stated the Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly.

Emphasizing that the reason for the Islamic Revolution’s resistance today against the arrogant is to pay attention to the spirit of freedom and the Quran, he reminded, “The spirit of theology is still present in this nation, who led the Islamic Revolution to victory, and this is permanent.”

“If the pressures and political, economic, military problems that occurred for the Islamic Revolution, happened to any country, that society and country would fall apart. But the fact that the Islamic Revolution stands like this today is due to the blessings of the Quran, its teachings, and the belief in divine traditions, and the popular nature of this revolution,” continued the Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly.

“The Quran is the book of life, hope and peace that is the slogan of this period of this year’s exhibition. I think if we turn this exhibition into a festival, then we can use all the existing capacities of the country, including art and popular capacities,” he added.

The 29th International Quran Exhibition with the slogan “Quran, Book of Hope and Peace” will host enthusiasts of the Quran and Itrat for 14 days from 17:30 to 23:30 in the form of 45 committees and exhibition sections and hundreds of booths.

One of the features of this year’s Quran exhibition is the establishment of a virtual exhibition for those who are not able to attend the exhibition for any reason. Accordingly, whatever is presented in the face-to-face exhibition is to be presented in the virtual exhibition as well, and those interested can use the facilities of this site through the address www.iqfa.ir.

According to the officials of the International Quran Exhibition, one of the special advantages of this year’s exhibition is the design of 80 creative ideas in the form of 46 sections. Knowledge-based culture and cyber and virtual literacy are among these ideas. Visitors will be introduced to the basics of media literacy in order to provide the necessary context to reduce the harms of cyberspace to the lifestyle of families, especially young people and adolescents. The service-oriented nature of this year’s exhibition is considered as one of the most important features of this Quranic event.

Among the sections of this year’s Quran exhibition are “Society and civilization building Mosque”, “Quranic Cultural Works and Handicrafts”, “Quranic Sounds and Tones”, “Cultural Models”, “Translation of the Quran”, “Cyberspace and the Knowledge-based Culture”, “Jihad of Enlightenment”, “Promoting the culture of Nahj al-Balaghah”, “Quranic family and lifestyle”, “Adolescent”, “Garden of verses”, “Quranic-based Consultations”, “Religious written and digital publications”, “Chastity and hijab”, “Servants of Quran”, “Religious arts”, “offering products related to hijab”, and so on.
