The English version of the full text of the final statement of this conference, which was read by Dr. Nazir Jabbar Al-Handavi, the head of the scientific committee of the conference and the scientific deputy of the Karbala Center for Studies and Research, is as follows:
بسم الله الرحمن الرحیم
In the Name of God, the Compassionate, the Merciful
The programs of “The 3rd Conference of the Series of International Conferences for the Revival of the Heritage of the Ulama of Karbala” were held on Jumadi Al-Awwal 15-16, 1444, corresponding to December 10-11, 2022, with the participation of Iraqi and non-Iraqi elite ulama, Sharia jurists and researcher professors.
Through presentation and analysis in the research, study and scientific debates about the subjects of the conference regarding the outstanding figure, wise Islamic and national leader Sheikh Mirza Mohammad Taghi Shirazi, the following conclusions resulted:
1. We should be inspired by the Islamic experience in defending the homeland based on heavenly teachings and adherence to the authentic Quranic and Muhammadan method; the way in which the grand sources of emulation, led by Sayed Kazem Yazdi and Mirza Mohammad Taghi Shirazi, took a step. The role of Marjaiat should be clarified that it does not have stratified, geographical, ethnic, or religious perspective in this regard.
2. We call on the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to preserve the Iraqi Great Revolution (1920 Iraqi Revolt, the uprising of the Iraqi people against the colonialists). This revolution was the basis for the establishment of the contemporary Iraqi government and was initiated by the fatwa of the Marja Sheikh Mohammad Taghi Shirazi. Also, the Fatwa of Kefa’i Jihad of the supreme Marja, Sayed Ali Sistani, was preserved the Iraqi government against the Takfiri project, which sought to destroy this government. These fatwas changed the course of political events in Iraq, and mentioning these fatwas is a responsibility to awaken the national spirit and social participation in the protection of the homeland, which requires their inclusion in textbooks.
3. We emphasize the essential role of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism in reviving the heritage of the eminent ulama, who were influential in drawing the political life in Iraq in the shadow of the sensitive conditions of the country during a century (1914 to 2014), and this role should be highlighted with actions and programs at the global level.
4. We call on researchers to study on the contents and motivations of fatwas of eminent ulama, especially the famous fatwa of Marja Mirza Shirazi against the British occupation. These fatwas have spiritual and spiritual effects that can be used in various scientific fields.
5. We demand the central government and local authorities of Iraq to name some schools, public streets and squares after the Ishreen Revolution (1920 Iraqi Revolt, against the British colonialism) and its leaders who played an influential role in clearing the Iraqi soil from the British occupation, so that their memory will always remain in the minds of the Iraqi people.
6. We ask the Iraqi parliament to designate a day in June as the country's national day.
7. The participants in the conference expressed their gratitude for the scientific efforts of the Center for Studies and Research of the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain (a.s.) in holding such outstanding conferences to preserve the history and legacy of the mujahid ulama of the Islamic Ummah in the path of reviving the principles of the Prophet (p.b.u.h) and the AhlulBayt (a.s.).
In the end, the scientific and executive committees would like to appreciate all who participated in this conference from inside and outside Iraq and helped its enrichment with their words and positions.
Peace and God’s mercy and blessings be upon you
