“Hazrat Abu Talib (a.s.) knew the Holy Prophet (p.b.u.h) from his childhood. He was with the Prophet (p.b.u.h) until the last days of his life. Insight is evident in the words and poems of Abu Talib,” said Matuq, a Kuwaiti member of the Supreme Council of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly.

The opening ceremony of the International Conference of Hazrat Abu Talib (a.s.), the Supporter of the Prophet (p.b.u.h), started, Tuesday morning, March 9, 2021, in the Quds Hall of Imam Khomeini Complex in Qom.

“During the Umayyad period, Imam Ali (a.s.) and the AhlulBayt (a.s.) were insulted for 50 years, until Umar ibn Abdul Aziz forbade public insult. But this culture continued until the time of Abbasid era,” said Ayatollah Sheikh “Hussein Matuq”, a Kuwaiti member of the Supreme Council of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly, in a speech at the conference, referring to the reasons for raising doubts about Hazrat Abu Talib (a.s.).

“Abu Ishaq Jowzjani, who was the teacher of Ahmad ibn Hanbal, emphasized the Kufr (infidelity) of Imam Ali (a.s.) (!). He is one of the greatest scholars of Modification. He considered Umar ibn Sa’d, the murderer of Imam Hussein (a.s.), as one of the Theqa (trustworthy) scholars in quoting hadith (from the Prophet) (!). At this time, the culture of insulting Imam Ali (a.s.) continued,” he continued.

“If we examine the narrators of the hadith, we see that (some of them) have considered false hadiths such as “Gharaniq” to be correct, narrations in which the Holy Prophet (p.b.u.h) has been targeted. In this case, we are no longer surprised by the targeting of Hazrat Abu Talib (a.s.),” said the Kuwaiti member of the Supreme Council of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly.

“Hazrat Abu Talib (a.s.) supported the Prophet (p.b.u.h) and attended the She’b (valley) Abi Talib (during the boycott of Quraysh against Bani Hashem, Prophet Muhammad (p.b.u.h) and his followers) with him. Hazrat Abu Talib (a.s.) was the elder of Quraysh, but he was ready to sacrifice his life for the Holy Prophet (p.b.u.h),” said Ayatollah Matuq, considering the role of Hazrat Abu Talib (a.s.) preserving the existence of Islam.

“Hazrat Abu Talib (a.s.) knew the Holy Prophet (p.b.u.h) from his childhood, he was with the Prophet (p.b.u.h) until the last days of his life. Insight is evident in the words and poems of Abu Talib,” he noted.
