The Secretary General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly suggested that a council consisting of ulama be formed in the Muslim Administration of Georgia to play a role in the events.
ABWA Official Website – On Tuesday, January 24, 2023, Ayatollah Ramazani, the Secretary General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly, met and talked with the officials of the Muslim Administration of Georgia.
During this visit, while expressing his satisfaction with the unity and coexistence of Muslims in Georgia, he expressed his gratitude and appreciation for the efforts of religious leaders, especially the Sheikhs of the Muslim administration, in maintaining and strengthening this unity and empathy.
“During the former Soviet era, for 70 years efforts were made to separate people from religion and God, but these efforts failed,” Ayatollah Ramazani stated, “Accordingly, Western thinker William James, argues that “religion has a hundred lives, and if you fight and kill one of its lives, it will rise with another! Therefore, it is not possible to fight it and it will never be destroyed.” Also in this regard, Allameh Javadi Amoli believes, “There is no one who does not believe in the existence of God. But if someone denies it, it is because of the stubbornness that exists in the nature of humans”.”
Further in his speech, the Secretary General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly reminded several important points and called on the leaders and officials of the Muslim Administration of Georgia, as well as the other Islamic religious institutions to pay more attention to them:
1. Today, a golden opportunity has arisen for the clerics, which should be seized effectively,
2. The fact that the government of Georgia supports the Muslim community is a very valuable opportunity and efforts should be made to seize it in the best way to preserve, strengthen and develop the position of Shia and Islam,
3. The Muslim Administration of Georgia is considered a valuable capacity, and therefore it should be influential in preserving unity among the followers of Islam, and most importantly, it should encourage and guide the Muslim community to preserve the national identity of Georgia and avoid ethnicism. Basically, the Holy Prophet (p.b.u.h) was against ethnocentrism. He even confronted racism and ethnocentrism. Therefore, you should never go towards the ethnic system. Because it is against the thought of Islam and the Holy Prophet (p.b.u.h).
“It is necessary to always take care to preserve unity and sympathy. Because the enemies are against unity and they are always planning and working to damage it,” he noted.
“You will be judged by history, and therefore your conduct is important in society. The arrogant world has always tried to create division among Muslims, and we must not let them succeed in this regard. The late Allameh Tabatabai was asked, “Why is the Islamic world not successful, while the world of disbelief is progressing?” Allameh replied, “The western world is wrong in everything, except in one thing, that is unity among them. This is while Muslims are right in everything, except for one thing, which is the disunity among them. If all Islamic countries were united, we would be superior in everything including in political, cultural, and economic sectors. Because the wealth that Islamic countries have does not exist in any European country,” Ayatollah Ramazani said.
Referring to the distinct conditions of Georgian society, the Secretary General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly added, “Today, the best opportunity to teach the Divine Teachings has arisen in Georgia. In terms of Ma’arefa (divine knowledge), the Muslims of this country are still intact. Therefore, you should be active in teaching in the best way. Whatever you teach will remain as a tradition among Muslims. Therefore, your teaching should be accompanied by a research background. If research is done in-depth, education will be deep as well. No educational matter will last without research. The best education is the result of the best research. In the messages that you publish on various occasions, try to introduce a figure from the Islamic world or religious occasions as a lesson to Georgian society.”
He further mentioned some important recommendations as follows:
1. Pay special attention to the family because the West tries to change and distort the concept of the family.
2. Be vigilant about the affairs of the youth, and according to the words of the Holy Prophet (p.b.u.h), “Mind the youth.” Be aware that global arrogance has special plans for young people.
3. Cherish the Islamic identity of women and introduce the true position of women in the family and society to people.
“Since history will judge our conduct and deeds, we should behave morally in society in such a way that even non-Muslims are attracted to Islam,” he reiterated, “In fact, this is the spirit of responsibility that the Islamic society needs. Imam Sadeq (a.s.) said, “We like our followers to have 7 attributes: Wise and sage, understanding and tactful, jurist and knowledgeable, patient, meek and tolerant, loyal, lenient.”
In the end, the Secretary General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly suggested that a council consisting of ulama be formed in the Muslim Administration of Georgia to play a role in the events, “For example, when the sacred things of Islam are insulted, this council should issue a condemnation statement.”
At the end of the visit, Ayatollah Ramazani performed the noon prayer at the Juma Mosque in Tbilisi.
During the visit of Ayatollah Ramazani from the Muslim Administration of Georgia, Hojat Islam Haji Ramin Igidev, Etebar Aminov Mufti of East Georgia, and Haji Adam Shantadze, Mufti of West Georgia along with other clerics and officials of the Muslim Administration of Georgia were present. /345/
