On the third day of the International Conference “Hazrat Abu Talib (a.s.), the Supporter of the Great Prophet (p.b.u.h)”, the specialized session of “Abu Talib (a.s.) from the Perspective of International Scholars” was held on Thursday morning, March 11, 2021, at Imam Khomeini School in Qom.

“Many hadiths have been narrated from the Infallible Imams (a.s.) about Abu Talib (a.s.), and the AhlulBayt (a.s.) emphasized the virtue of Hazrat Abu Talib (a.s.), and it is important to know the reason for this,” stated Dr. Essam Al-Emad, one of the prominent Yemeni Mustabserin (those who have recently converted to Shia) in this conference, referring to the words of the Infallible Imams (a.s.) about Hazrat Abu Talib (a.s.).

“The Umayyads fabricated many false hadiths about the unbelief of Abu Talib (a.s.) from the Prophet and claimed that according to these false hadiths, Abu Talib (AS) would burn in the fire. (Unfortunately) the false hadiths of the Umayyads about Hazrat Abu Talib (a.s.) were published all over the world,” he continued.

“If the infallible Imams (a.s.) did not say hadiths about the virtue of Hazrat Abu Talib (a.s.), the issue of the infidelity of Hazrat Abu Talib (a.s.) would be institutionalized. According to the narrations of the Infallible Imams (a.s.), Hazrat Abu Talib (a.s.) is not only a Muslim but also one of God’s friends,” added the religious researcher.

“Despite the oppression against them, the AhlulBayt (a.s.) tried to remember Abu Talib (a.s.), and defend him against doubts (raised by the enemies). These narrations caused some Sunni scholars to use the prophetic hadiths to write books in defense of the AhlulBayt (a.s.),” he said, referring to the oppression against the AhlulBayt (a.s.) throughout history.

“Hazrat Abu Talib (a.s.) was able to gather both the Bani Hashim and the infidels and told them that their common belief is the Prophet Muhammad (p.b.u.h). The wise leadership of Abu Talib caused even the infidels to defend the Holy Prophet (p.b.u.h),” he mentioned.
