ABWA Official Website – On Friday, October 1, 2024, a commemoration ceremony for the Martyr Hojat al-Islam Sayed Hashem Safieddine, the head of the Executive Council of Lebanese Hezbollah, and other martyrs in the Resistance path, was held by the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly in the Imam Khomeini (r.a.) Courtyard of the Holy Shrine of Lady Masoumeh (a.s.) in Qom with the participation of related institutions.
As the special speaker of this ceremony, Ayatollah Reza Ramazani, Secretary General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly, pointing out the life of Martyr Sayed Hashem Safieddine, said, “This martyr studied his religious education in the seminaries of Qom and Najaf, and at the age of 30, at the invitation of Martyr Sayed Hassan Nasrallah, became a member of the group of influential figures in Lebanese Hezbollah. At the age of 31, martyr Sayed Hashem Safieddine became a member of the advisory council of Lebanese Hezbollah. This martyr held various positions in the Lebanese Hezbollah and was the head of the movement’s executive council for a long time.”
Martyr Sayed Hashem Safieddine was a graduate of the school of the two Imams of the Islamic Revolution
The Secretary General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly further continued, “Martyr Sayed Hashem Safieddine believed in Jihad and unity between Resistance groups. He was a jihadi person in the truest sense of the word. Another characteristic of the martyr Hashem Safieddine was that he observed divine manners. This martyr tried to observe these manners in his conduct and interactions with others. Martyr Sayed Hashem Safieddine was a graduate of the school of the two Imams of the Islamic Revolution. This martyr believed in the Wilayat-e Faqih in its true sense of the word. He considered himself a soldier of the school of Wilayat and was influenced by the Supreme Leader of the Revolution.”
“Where there is adherence to Sharia law, the role and influence of Islam can be seen,” Secretary General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly added, “Sharia shows the path to the people of faith. With the acceptance and implementation of Sharia in all its individual and social dimensions, the role of Islam is fully seen. According to history, after the demise of the Holy Prophet (p.b.u.h), the views and approaches of Muslims to Islam were different. Alawai Islam is different from the Umayyad and Abbasid versions of Islam. In the Umayyad and Abbasid versions of Islam, only some outward aspects of Islam could be seen.
Referring to the distortions in religion, Ayatollah Ramazani said, “There is a need to spread and promote a comprehensive view of Islam. Today, we are facing distortions in religion that want to distance us from Sharia. According to hadiths, there will come a time when Islam will be turned upside down and only its name will remain. Whenever there is a distance from Sharia, the influence of Islam decreases. In the West, liberal Islam is welcomed because, in this version of Islam, a series of recommendations substitute Sharia. On the other hand, some people describe Islam as a violent religion. They introduce Islam with violence, and this is the most important blow and damage to Islam.”
The Resistance brings honor to Islam
About compassionate and merciful versions of Islam, Ayatollah Ramazani said, “One of the dangerous distortions is to present a merciful version of Islam based on absolute mercy. The result of merciful Islam is absolute and unrestricted peace. The intellectuals of merciful Islam discard about 400 Quranic verses about Jihad. The Holy Prophet (p.b.u.h) was sent for mercy, and his administration was also based on mercy. For this reason, his confrontations were also moral and based on mercy. During the 13 years of his invitation to Islam in Mecca, despite his Companions’ insistence, the Holy Prophet (p.b.u.h) refused to wage war. The Prophet (p.b.u.h) could create attraction and influence through his conduct. God also praised his conduct. We accept all of these. But according to reason and fitrah (human’s divine nature), the oppressors and tyrants must be confronted.”
Secretary General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly added, “Resistance brings honor to Islam. Jihad and resistance, which is proposed in Islam, is to preserve the religion and honor of Muslims. God made Jihad obligatory so that Islam could be helped with it. Religion and world life can only be achieved and secured by Jihad, that is, confrontation with oppressors. Resistance against oppression and domination has been made obligatory by God. Resistance should only be in the way of God and for the realization of religion and Sharia, otherwise, religion will fade. Such a version of Islam is what the enemies fear. Such a version of Islam stands against oppressors and will never recognize Tel Aviv.”
Referring to the change in the balance of power in the world, Ayatollah Ramazani said, “At one time, the balance of power in the world was between the Eastern and Western blocs. But now the balance of power is established between Islam and the arrogance system. The area of resistance has expanded and reached different countries including Lebanon, Iraq Yemen, and even North America. Even the Resistance literature has gone beyond Muslims. Everyone saw that Western university students rose against Israel’s oppression against the Palestinian people.”
“The only solution confronting the enemies is resistance, and negotiation with these oppressors has no results. Yasser Arafat recognized Israel. But everyone saw what the Zionists did to him. Zionists are the worst and most racist people, and they do not adhere to any of the UN resolutions,” he continued.
Resistance is a confirmed Quranic theory
Considering resistance as a confirmed Quranic theory, the Secretary General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly stated, “Resistance is defined under divine mercy; it is the same as mercy, and it is only through resistance that people can enjoy God’s mercy. The verses about Jihad should not be ignored under the pretext of merciful Islam, because this means ignoring Sharia. The language of confrontation with force, oppression, aggression, and hostility is only resistance. Enemies understand nothing but resistance and struggle, and if we take a step back, they take ten steps forward. Imam Khomeini (r.a.) was the leader of the Resistance. After him, Ayatollah Khamenei is his successor, and martyr Sayed Hassan Nasrallah considered himself his soldier.”
At the end of his speech, Ayatollah Ramazani Secretary General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly noted, “Martyr Sayed Hashem Safieddine got acquainted with the Resistance since his young age. This martyr was one of the leaders of the Resistance. Moreover, he was also considered a moral figure. Martyr Sayed Hashem Safieddine was a great mujahid who was not afraid of the enemy. The Zionists used dozens of tons of bombs to kill and martyr Sayed Hassan Nasrallah and Sayed Hashem Safieddine. But the significant matter is that the school of Sayed Hassan Nasrallah is alive and expanding day by day.”
