In a statement, the Iranian embassy in Baghdad appreciated the Iraqi government and all the organizers of Arbaeen Hosseini, including the government and the people of the country, Mawkeb owners and others involved in holding this great ceremony.

This statement reads, “While expressing condolences on the demise of the Holy Prophet (p.b.u.h) and the martyrdom of Imam Hassan (a.s.), the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Iraq expresses its gratitude and appreciation to the Iraqi government and people, as well as Mawkeb owners, service providers, and all those who helped facilitate the presence of Iranian pilgrims at this year’s Hosseini Walk and created this glorious epic.”

“Although due to the restrictions caused by outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic just a small number of Iranian pilgrims were accepted to attend this year’s Arbaeen ceremony, and the ceremony was fraught with some difficulties, but ultimately, thanks to God and the blessing of Imam Hussain (a.s.), Millions of lovers of Imam Hussain (a.s.) from Iraq and other countries, were present in Karbala these days,” the statement continued.

“While thanking all organizers, the embassy hopes that the planning and conditions will proceed in such a way that, God willing, the Arbaeen Hosseini ceremony in next year (1444 AH - 2022 AD) will be held without any restrictions, so that once again the lovers of Imam Hussain (a.s.) will have success of serving the pilgrims, the blessed ties between the two governments and the great nations of Iran and Iraq be strengthened more than ever, and the slogan of “The love for Imam Hussain untie us” be realized once again,” added the press statement by the Iranian embassy in Baghdad.
