Ayatollah Nouri Hamedani’s message to the conference of Hazrat Abu Talib (a.s.)

Considering approximation between Islamic denominations as the goal of the Iranian Islamic Revolution, Grand Ayatollah Nouri Hamedani stated, “In the conference of Hazrat Abu Talib (a.s.), you should tell the Sunni brothers that holding this conference is for the proximity of Islamic schools of thought, and this is a great work.”

The closing ceremony of the “International Conference of Hazrat Abu Talib (a.s.); Supporter of the Great Prophet (p.b.u.h)” was held on Thursday evening, March 11, 2021, at the Imam Khomeini School in Qom.

Referring to the character of Hazrat Abu Talib (a.s.), the Grand Ayatollah Hossein Nouri Hamedani, one of the Shiite Sources of Emulation, stated in a message to the conference of Hazrat Abu Talib (a.s.), “Abu Talib is an important figure, because Hazrat Abd al-Muttalib at the time of his death willed that Abu Talib (a.s.) would take care and custody of the Prophet Muhammad (p.b.u.h).”

“Hazrat Abu Talib (a.s.) is a great and majestic figure and in his time, he had a special place among the Arabs. Hazrat Abu Talib (a.s.) was called Sheikh al-Bat’ha. Abu Talib writes poetry, and he has also written poems about the Holy Prophet (p.b.u.h),” he continued.

‘Another characteristic of Hazrat Abu Talib (a.s.) was his courage in supporting the Prophet (p.b.u.h). This support was especially evident in the She’b (Valley) of Abi Talib (during the siege of Quraysh against the Prophet and his followers). There, the dangers against the Prophet (p.b.u.h) were such that Hazrat Abu Talib (a.s.) put his children to sleep in the place of the Holy Prophet (p.b.u.h) in order to save the life of the Prophet (p.b.u.h),” added the Shiite Source of Emulation.

“The Prophet (p.b.u.h) was saddened by the demise of Abu Talib (a.s.), and after that, he migrated from Mecca to Medina. The incident of “Hijra” (migration) happened due to the loneliness of the Holy Prophet (p.b.u.h), which has many points to study,” stated the Grand Ayatollah Nouri Hamedani, referring to the reaction of the Holy Prophet (p.b.u.h) to the death of Hazrat Abu Talib (a.s.).

“Regarding the faith of Hazrat Abu Talib (a.s.), it is stated in the book Al-Kafi, that Hazrat Abu Talib (a.s.) is like the Companions of the Cave (Seven Sleepers). The Companions of the Cave hid their faith. Hazrat Abu Talib (a.s.) also hid his faith to support the Prophet (p.b.u.h) and to preserve the seedlings of Islam. If a person can hide his faith (Taqyia) with courage, he has two divine rewards,” he continued.

“Abdullah Al-Khanizi wrote a book about the faith of Abu Talib (a.s.) entitled “Abu Talib; the believer of Quraysh”. This prompted the Wahhabis to assassinate the author of the book,” added the Shiite Source of Emulation.

“You who have taken this path, do not ignore the role of Zionism in the formation of oppression. You should create a stream to introduce the role of Zionism to the people. If this is not done, there will be no peace in the Middle East. We should know that in the early days of Islam the Zionism poisoned and martyred the Holy Prophet (p.b.u.h),” he continued.

“In the conference of Hazrat Abu Talib (a.s.), you should tell the Sunni brothers that holding this conference is for the proximity of Islamic schools of thought, and this is a great work,” stated the Grand Ayatollah Nouri Hamedani, considering approximation between Islamic denominations as the goal of the Iranian Islamic Revolution.
