The Secretary of the “World Prize 114” stated, “With the least public announcement, and in less than four months, more than 500 works were submitted to the Prize Secretariat, many of which were valuable works.”
The closing ceremony of the first “World Prize 114” was held in the conference hall of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly in Qom, in full compliance with health protocols due to Covid-19.
After the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran by Mr. Moghaddasi, the Secretary of the “World Prize 114” presented a brief report on the process of the competition.
Hojat al-Islam Dr. Mohammad Javad Zarean said, “Based on its main mission, the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly pays attention to various aspects of the life of Shiites around the world, and in this regard, the Assembly included Quranic issues as part of its activities. For the past three decades, the Assembly has been publishing and translating the Holy Quran, as well as publishing and translating Tafsir books.”
“Quranic figures such as Ayatollah Asefi and Ayatollah Taskhiri were members of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly and dealt with Quranic affairs in their lifetime,” added the Deputy for International Affairs of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly.
“In addition to the international Quranic activities carried out by various institutions, the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly decided to have a special program for the Shiite communities and to promote the Quranic status of the Shiites. Therefore, “World Prize 114” was planned in this regard,” Zarean said, referring to the objectives for launching “World Prize 114”.
At the “World Prize 114”, Shiites around the world were asked to submit their works, so that the selected works would be honored after judging. With the least public announcement, and in less than four months, more than 500 works were submitted to the Prize Secretariat, many of which were valuable works. Out of 500 submitted works, about 200 works in the first judging, and 14 works in the final judging, were selected as the best works,” he continued.
“Due to restrictions imposed by Covid-19, the face-to-face closing ceremony of the “World Prize 114” was limited, and it was decided to broadcast the event widely in cyberspace,” stated Dr. Zarean, referring to the conditions of the closing ceremony of this world prize.
“We hope that in the coming years, “World Prize 114” will be continued more vigorously,” concluded the Deputy for International Affairs of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly in the end.
