ABWA Official Website – On Friday, October 1, 2024, a commemoration ceremony for the Martyr Hojat al-Islam Sayed Hashem Safieddine, the head of the Executive Council of Lebanese Hezbollah, and other martyrs in the Resistance path, was held by the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly in the Imam Khomeini (r.a.) Courtyard of the Holy Shrine of Lady Masoumeh (a.s.) in Qom with the participation of related institutions.
On the sidelines of the ceremony, Ayatollah Reza Ramazani, the Secretary General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly, in an interview with ABNA International News Agency, stated, “The great ceremony was held to commemorate one of the mujahids of the Resistance Front, Allameh Sayed Hashem Safieddine. Given the significant role that martyr Safieddine played in Lebanese Hezbollah, a special ceremony was needed to be held to commemorate him. Because he, in the true sense of the word, dedicated himself to the Resistance thought, Resistance Axis, and the Resistance Front.”
“Given that no ceremony special for the martyr Seyed Hashem Safieddine was held, the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly, after interacting with international organizations, could hold this great ceremony to commemorate Martyr Sayed Hashem Safieddine. By the grace of God, this ceremony was attended by representatives of the sources of emulation, members of the Assembly of Experts, the respected professors of the seminary, members of the Society of Seminary Teachers of Qom, scientific, cultural, and academic figures, Qom Province officials and university students; the martyr Sayed Hashem Safieddine was commemorated and honored, and his bravery and struggles for the Resistance Front were expressed,” he continued.
“Martyr Sayed Hashem Safieddine has been in the important positions of Lebanese Hezbollah since the age of 30, and as the head of the executive council of the movement, he was a second or third person in Hezbollah’s organizational chart. Martyr Sayed Hashem Safieddine had a family relationship with the martyr Sayed Hassan Nasrallah, and until the end, he stood by this martyr. Martyr Safieddine lived for about 60 years and had a blessed life; and in his commemoration ceremony, it was stated that the presence of such mujahid figures expanded the geography of the Resistance Movement,” added the Secretary General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly.

“Today, it should be further explained that resistance and jihad can create an opportunity for the political system to implement all the laws of Sharia, and it can completely change the balance of power. The resistance caused the balance of power to be between Islam and arrogance. Of course, this issue depends on a deep understanding of Islam. Precise, deep, and comprehensive knowledge of Islam will make the Shariah, the plan of life in all dimensions, in the true sense of the word, be implemented in society, which will bring honor. According to Hadiths, jihad is considered the honor of Islam. In a hadith, Imam Ali (a.s.) said that jihad is the pillar of religion, and it makes Muslims live with dignity in society,” he continued.
At the end of the interview, the Secretary General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly noted, “A society that resists the domination system will definitely be a powerful society that does not allow oppression of a Muslim or an Islamic country. If such a resistance movement aggregates all Islamic and freedom-seeking countries, a power will certainly emerge against the arrogant system. The Zionist regime is a racist regime that violates international law and arrogantly defies all UN Resolutions, and it must be suppressed with resistance.”
