On Tuesday, July 6, 2021, the Pre-conference of the Scientific Conference for commemorating Ayatollah al-Kharsan, under the title “The role of Ayatollah Mousavi al-Kharsan in reviving the AhlulBayt (a.s.) heritage”, was held by the Academic Committee of the Conference of the “Umana al-Rosol” (Trustees of the Prophets) with the cooperation of AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly, in the conference hall of the Assembly in Qom.
Hojat al-Islam Reza Mokhtari, head of the Shiite Bibliography Institute, said, “One of the notable activities of Allameh Kharsan was the revival of heritage (of AhlulBayt). This is a heavy and troublesome scientific work.”
“The first condition for reviving the heritage of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) is a correct and accurate understanding of the texts. The Kharsan family had a long history in this regard,” said the head of the Shiite Bibliography Institute.
“Correction of 9 volumes of Bihar al-Anwar collection has been one of the great actions of Allameh Kharsan,” he added.
“Ayatollah Kharsan has stated the problems and difficulties of correcting this book at the beginning of 9 volumes of Bihar al-Anwar,” pointed out Hojat al-Islam Mokhtari.
“Correction of the whole collection of Ibn Idris, in 50 years, has been another magnificent work of Allama Kharsan. At that time the facilities of today, as well as the lists of manuscripts of the world were not available,” Mokhtari stated.
“At that time, access to libraries was very difficult. By considering these problems, we can get a better understanding of the efforts of the Ulama of that time,” he said.
“There are many hadith books that need to be corrected now. Nevertheless, at present, many of our books have a weighty and beautiful print,” said the head of the Shiite Bibliography Institute.
“Ayatollah Kharsan has stated the problems and difficulties of correcting this book at the beginning of 9 volumes of Bihar al-Anwar,” he said.
“Articles No. 9 and No. 10 of the book “Shiite Thoughts”, refer to the biography of Allameh Kharsan,” pointed out Hojat al-Islam Mokhtari.
