On the third day of the International Conference “Hazrat Abu Talib (a.s.), the Supporter of the Great Prophet (p.b.u.h)”, the specialized session of “Abu Talib (a.s.) from the Perspective of International Scholars” was held on Thursday morning, March 11, 2021, at Imam Khomeini School in Qom.
Speaking at the conference, Akhtar Abbas, Secretary-General of the Taha Foundation in India, said, “If the goal is great, man will not fail, he will not be weak, he will not be afraid and he will not be lazy.”
“Today, especially the scholars and the virtuous in Qom feel the resistance, and see the result of the resistance. The revolution did not win without resistance, and the survival of the revolution requires resistance. Because victory in the revolution is one stage, and the survival its survival is another, which is more crucial. The importance of resistance is no less than uprising and revolution,” he added.
“The Islamic Revolution has strongly resisted the arrogant powers. Because resistance requires enduring hardships and problems. Without enduring problems, resistance will not progress and will not last,” said Akhtar Abbas, stating that the Islamic Revolution of Iran has adhered to its principles.
“Hazrat Abu Talib (a.s.) endured many problems. When the Prophet and those around him faced economic and social sanctions from the Quraysh, and in order to save the life of the Prophet (p.b.u.h), staying in the tribe was accompanied by dangers and difficulties. Therefore, Abu Talib (a.s.) went to a valley despite his old age, and it was not for a short time, but for three years in a besieged valley that lacked basic facilities and food. The person who played an important role in protecting the divine leader (the Prophet) is Hazrat Abu Talib (a.s.),” continued the Indian cleric.
“Abu Talib was completely submissive and obedient to the Prophet, and it is very important that how man submits to the divine leader. This is also important in the present age. In a good situation and when everything is normal, the submission of people (to their leaders) cannot be measured well. But in difficult situations, one can better understand the ability of human beings to submit to divine leaders. Abu Talib, although he was older than the Prophet and was the senior of the Quraysh, and had raised the Prophet from childhood, was completely submissive and obedient to the divine leader, the Prophet, and made sacrifices. In order to save the life of the Prophet, every year, for three years, he endangered the lives of his children and changed the sleeping place of the Prophet with them. This is the most prominent example of resistance in history. Especially in the face of the arrogant powers of all time, which have taken on a global form today,” said Akhtar Abbas.
“Today, all the arrogant powers are united, and they are pressing against the “Right Front”. This creates sanctions and problems. But with this great example, we can overcome the problems. There is no way to glorify the “Right Front” and defeat the “Wrong Front” other than the “Resistance”,” the Indian cleric said.
“If the resistance is sincere and for the sake of God, and not to achieve personal goals, then the “Wrong Front”, no matter how powerful, will fall. It is a divine promise that he will help the Right and makes the Right victorious. We can see the fruits of resistance in Syria, Lebanon, Yemen, and Iran,” said Hojat al-Islam Akhtar Abbas.
“Today, the life of Abu Talib can teach all of us great lessons,” concluded the Secretary-General of the Taha Foundation.
